Baktria Question

Hello Lads

In my Baktria campaign ive conquered the entire eastern part of the map "in the north till the city Gava Yugra, then down next to the sea, and so on to the persian gulf". The Seleucids have quite a problem because they are in the center between me, macedonia who are on their way to conquer asia minor, and the egyptians who control the entire part of arabia.

The problem exists in this: it's only a matter of time before the seleucids are swept aside and macedonia rules asia minor and far beyond. So a confrontation with them is inevitable, the only problem i face is that my empire at the moment is so huge, that it takes about 10 or more turns to go from the border of my empire, to a city that can replenish my troops. I fear that eventually this time consuming movement will be my undoing.

Now the question is: Do any of you have any pointers on how i should handle this, or maybe a little story about how you handled it in the past.

Dont send your armies from border for retraining to the center of your empire.
Train troops in you homeland and move them to your army, then merge units (it takes half the time).

Only core of your army should be national when you are fighting far from home (elite cavalry, infantry etc.. only units that are the best and cant be replaced by local troops). Cheep, axillary units (like akonistai etc) can be easily replaced by the local troops from the area you are fighting in.

Likewise, I always form a Royal Army of sorts, my core force I mostly use for striking to the hearts of enemy factions or taking the toughest of cities. Then I have several supporting auxiliary armies composed of mercenaries, local forces and low-quality units, they are my cannonfodder and do the dirty work.

I agree with Zastrow. My Seboz kingdom has two large armies led by the Kunningaz and his brother, and they are both comprised of loyal, elite, and well-trained germans. In my outer territories, most of the troops are compirsed of lower quality local ethnic troops, such as Celts and a few types of Getai, which are cheaper and can be replenished easier via their own local cities.

I think it is also possible for you to disband sections of your army, and just sit at chokepoints for a while, so that you can build up your infrastructure and economy.

I have my own little question. I just started a Baktria campaign, and immediately noticed that my Baktrian generals are actually quite Roman. Is there a reason that my troops shout "For Rome!" when I have them charge into battle, or is this something being worked on.

It went away when we ported and swapped the cultures back around. Eastgreeks now have the vanilla "greek" accents back in.

We are still looking for the right person to do the greek voice recordings if there are any talented and interested parties.

I speak a decent amount of greek myself [I speak a ton of langauges....], and my wife speaks even more langauges than me, and on that note speaks them better than me....

The only problem would be our computer's over-all suckiness, and not to mention our lack of voice recording equipment.
