I've this doubt since I first played RTW, so I'll ask it here. Is there any way to create a new city in game? My idea is this (just to clearify this is not a suggestion to the EB team wich already has a lot of work, is just so I can get my ideas right):
0- The game starts.
1- There's no cities.
2- There's only an original tribe for each faction, wich can become sedentary if you'll, or remain nomadic.
3- The tribe (represented by a general figure) can establish three types of provisionary buildings. A fort (as always), a camp and finally a village (or it could be all reduced to forts -Then at any time one can choose to improve that fort to a village).
4- The village then starts to take the place of the vanilla city in various ways:
a-Every city has it's own area of control, so perhaps my idea is already impossible to achieve (adding the problem of the paths between cities to add roads later), unless this city takes control of an area when it creates a village in it, the area being prestablished.
b-Every village becomes a city:
b'- Every city has it's own area of control (like Roma controling the center of Italy) but the area is circular and not irregular (as in vanilla).
b''- Every city takes control of a predetermined area (as in method 'a') but you can also create other minor cities in the same area. The area reamains irrgular in shape.
b'''- Same as method 'b' but the area is randomly defined in the instant you create the village, then all cities after that, wich have a fronteir with the first one, adapt their borders (again randomly) to the next city (establishing a maximum of size for every area).
5- One can destroy any city at any point if one owns it, and then construct another village in the same area.
6- There could be a limit to the quantity of cities built at a time for every faction, wich I think already exists.
Anyway... Can this be done? Or is there another possible method wich could fullfil my idea?
