Forgive my ignorance, most of the time I see words such as: Mods,. modzilla, vanilla, patches etc. Please help me out. Ignorance was bliss, now Ignorance is screwing me over

Okay:

Mods: Could either mean modifications (Changes to the base game) or moderators (People who ensure there is no pornographic material/extreme swearing, etc)

Vanilla: The base game without any modifications

Patches: Fixes to the game. Usually avoid CTDs (Crashes to Desktop). Dowloadable from the game maker's website.

Any other words you need help with?

Mods: either moderators on the forum or modifications of the base (vanilla) game, see the modification fora for some excellent examples (EB adn RTR for Rome come Highly recommend, for MTW there are mods that expand the game such as MTW XL and BKB's Supermod, and mods that change the game entirely such as Napoleonic: TW)

Vanilla game: the game out of the box with just the patches applied (or not), the game without mods

patches: updates of the game that fix bugs, see the CA site (totalwar.com) under files for a specific game iirc

Modzilla is a site on which bugs from EB can be posted, Mozilla is an internet browser (like IE) in case that was what you meant. If you ever have other questions like those feel free to pm me.
