Looks very good. I need to view it again with the pause button to get a better look at some of the details, but several things struck me
1) The College of Cardinals mini-screen with all the members listed by rank - very interesting
2) The option to recruit special units into your crusade - in MTW you when launched a crusade you were just given your special units with no say in what or how many
3) The campaign map looked a lot sharper and more "medieval-y", although this could be just because I was viewing the movie in HD, or it could be thev've sharpened up the map
4) The movement rates looked a lot slower in the battle scenes than in other trailers ~:)
Of course, it still looks gorgeous and I find myself wanting it more and more!

I also think that they've slowed down the kill rates in battles. If it's true, hten this is a vast improvement over Rome.
The only thing that annoys me, is that their is a land bridge from Venetia to Venice.

Yeah, I noticed they had Venice stuck out in the Adriatic as an island - one of the things that enable Venice to prosper and survive was that it was isolated from the Italian landmass, but only the Venetians knew how to navigate the narrow channels to the city, so it was impregnable from sea-borne assault. Here it looks like Venice is easily assaultable by land and sea ~:(

Did you notice something alarming?
Faction Leader: King Henry
What on earth is going on!? Everyone knows that William the Conqueror in 1080, and seeing as he is one of England's most famous kings, and CA is British, you would have though that they would have gotten the English King correct.

Besides there is a english army in the middle-east on turn 1 so I shouldn't read too much into it.

Watch chapter 2 on cities where you see King William in London as the governor. Which is the very begining of the campagin as England.

There never was going to be dates in M2, they announced that early on. I hope it's modable to years though.

No, what CA said was that years doesn't equal a passage of time and that you won't be seeing the date in the UI.
But from screenshots you can see that won't see turns either and that dates are still in, just hidden abit.

Indeed dude ;)
You do mean the one with the assassin killing the pope with a crossbow right? :laugh4:
Yea I noticed that in the centre bottom of the screenshot.....
It says...
Army Town Agents Army
Why does it have two "Army" boxes?

Oh.. nicely spotted... :2thumbsup:
So it does have dates... cool (I think)..
So... King Henry... We can only hope it's a joke/mistake/placeholder...
Not that I am about to start screaming that the sky is failing or "I won't buy it" or anything but all they have to do is dust of a copy of MTW to check it out...

I don't think that was the pope.
After he was in France at the time and the pope will be in Rome.
So I think it was a rival cardinal.
Nice way to secure your choice in the election to become a pope :2thumbsup:
Pretty frisky faction goals for the english: Hold Rome, Constantinople and Jerusalem?
Where'd you guys get those purty danish banners with a norwegian shield design on them?

That's it! I'm playing the Spanish and will take over the Papacy. Hopefully I can call some early crusades to drive out the dirty moors. Great!

Won't it be the same goals for all the christian factions, if not for all the factions?

Oh, please not a return to Rome's "50 Regions including Rome" conditions... boring, as everyone had to go the same way (albeit from different angles) every game...
BI's conditions were slightly more varied, and a lot more fun. MTW's GA's were even more fun than that!

Well that time limit was/is present in every Total War game, so that shouldn't be a game breaking feature. I don't think you'll have to hurry yourself to complete a campaign, this wasn't the case in Medieval, Rome, and in Shogun.
And there was a thread concerning the Historical Relevance of canon Elephants, you should check it out.
EDIT: Here's the mentioned thread : Historians, help me with cannon elephants (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=68543)
