Does BI increase the limit of models?

Topic. I know the top is 256 or something but does BI increase this?

Nope.

The BI addon didn't change any of the hardcoded factors of the game. One of the patches did increase slightly the number of available units...I think it was over 256, but I can't remember exactly! But the number of models was pegged at 256 for technical reasons.

This is the quote form CA:

The unit limit was raised it in the 1.2 patch to 500, but I'm not sure about the models limit... it may have been kept in order to keep the tex memory requirements under control.
