The Met operation led to a "massive" siezure of weapons .

It just goes to show , if you want to sieze a large amount of guns then raiding a registered gun dealership will give you a good photo opertunity .~;)
double + for the met, not only do they do something useful, they also get some positive PR,

Heh. My thought exactly. Funny how the all pictures are of 100 year old hammer action full length shotguns and Webley air pistols from the 1950s. I had no idea all this "black on black" violence was being committed with 40 year old .177 Webley seniors....
Nice to see Plod is reading the adverts in Gunmart though...

Yep , the original news story they touted was "Britains biggest illegal gun siezure" but they had to change that when it turns out most of the guns are not illegal .
They did show several handguns on the news though , and they must be illegal right as you Brits cannot have handguns ~;) , but those shown were antiques which the dealership specialised in and were not illegal .
So the pump actions they must be illegal ...well unless they meet legal requirements . :inquisitive: And the auto and semi-autos ...well unless they meet the legal requirements aswell .
However aside from the smuggling allegations it does appear that they can get him on a multitude of violations concening the storage of arms and ammunition under the firearms act , so not only do they add a large number of "gun-crimes" to the statistics , they also add a large number of solved "gun crimes" to the statistics .Soooo......double + for the met:laugh4:

IIRC semi auto and up is illegal. Regardless this is hardly anything big. They're going to ban novelty lighters because children are more likely to play with them and start fires. Except its illegal to let a child get hold of a lighter or leave it where a child can get hold of it.
I love my country.
You know, the biggest problem is that once the restrictions go in they rarely get repealed.

IIRC semi auto and up is illegal.
Not quite , there are a few exceptions .
However possesion of an automatic weapon is not illegal , as long as it is adapted to meet the regulations .
The police will have to determine if those "illegal" weapons have been adapted to comply with the firearms act .

I can't stand any article about the UK anymore it makes me sick to my stomach....what is wrong with "hundreds" of guns. This, with the one about the lady being imprisoned for yelling at vandals has caused me to a lot of respect for the UK.

If those are your main sources of information about that crazy place, I can see why.
