In Colorado, prairie dogs, which have had to face the possiblity of being shot, poisoned, drowned and vacuumed, face a new threat: high explosives.

Bill Murray is going to be teaching seminars on their proper application.

Explosive devices can be used to kill prairie dogs, the Colorado Wildlife Commission decided Thursday - giving farmers one more tool to get rid of the burrowing animals.

"I'm tickled pink," said Matt Fickes, a Sterling farmer who has sought to use the devices. "I've got prairie dogs so thick I can't see straight.

Ah, the joy of explosives.

In related news, it is also legal to pump tunnels full of propane and oxygen and explode it:

I get the image of some farmers hunting after prairie dogs using huge artillery pieces or bazookas. Or maybe a railgun.

I thought the issue with priarie dogs was the hole they left in the ground...

So the solution is to make a bigger hole?

No, they are one of the elil.

Okay, maybe not, but they're still annoying. Me and my brethren support the human war on those swarthy creatures!

Yes but how do they taste? Groundhogs are mighty tasty and if prairie dogs taste likewise, I'll have make a couple trips out west. :balloon2:

Are you kidding?! Imagine all the work involved in rounding up and beheading all those little creatures. They'd miss their prayer [nap] time.

On the other hand, it'd be a cheap way for the farmers to get rid of prairie dogs. Just say you saw some of them eating a Koran and *bam!* there goes half the world population.
