View Full Version : What about the wounded?
In battles during the STW period...were the wounded (immobilized) killed off? I can understand some wounded soldiers running and escaping the battlefield, but what about those that could not run or be saved by their comrades?

You mean you actually saw some of your wounded on the ground crawling and begging for life during the game? WOW! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/eek.gif
Just kidding http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
Actually for those can't escape, they'll either be killed or just hope that the win/loose screen would pop up before the enemy get to them.

What an idea! Imagine, instead of just having
dead soldiers...it would be pretty cool to have dying troops writhing in pain or trying to crawl away http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif For game purposes the soldiers would be treated as dead, but it would add more battle ambience to the game.
Hmmmm...or maybe I'm just sick? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Yup, your sick ... but in a good way!
I've wondered about how you could simulate wounded/dying vs. dead. Writhing on the battlefield works.

Hey! Not everybody has an Octium III. ;-) But seriously... hrm. If one wants casualties to have additional effects (besides just the troop loss and morale hit)... do they (ugh) slow down troops? I've seen awfully, er, bloody, bridges and slopes, and it strikes me that it should probably impede movement...

historically, the unluck ones are left behind to die of bleeding or finished of by the victors, or if you live long enough to be finished by the scavengers who hunt the battlefield for souvenirs to be sold in the market, there are records showing that if there is enough time or lull in battle then the wounded are taken care of and given time to recuperate.two kokus...

Perhaps the birds ought to be drawn to the piles of bodies rather than the woods, and start pecking the eyes out of corpses. Does Japan have Ravens ?
