View Full Version : Why do most moderaters have dark and mysterious avatars?

MSB
09-25-2006, 07:29
That question has been making me think for a long time. All moderaters (not assistant moderators) seem to have assasin MTW or RTW avatars, but why? There is a nice selection, they don't all have to look mean? So why do they do it?
Thankyou.

They are mean. And they mean you to know they're mean.

I believe it's just a tradition, that's all.

All of the moderators are in fact the last of the mysterious cult of the hashishin, believed to have been wiped out centuries ago. They regularly assassinate the members they don't like, which is why I'm currently in hiding in the mountains. In fact I shouldn't even be telling you this...

Interesting topic. Caravel, interesting explanation. I will have it in mind. Probably you will save my life. I currently prefer to be in the Mead hall which is often said to be ' quiet place' ( there is not many people there, really ( compared to the other subforums). Iwill be careful :2thumbsup:.

P.S. I like this trend. It is quite unique

It was the choice that was offered when I accepted the role of moderator, I had to trade my civvy clothes for an assassin's and swear to obey the Moderator rules.

I think Tosa had a thing for veiled threats ( thats us :laugh4: ) and equality...

So if I was to become a moderator then I would have to trade my lovely avatar that looks almost exactly like me (except for the bald head) for that of an assassins? Thats not fair, you should start a public group that aims to change moderator sign up policies...

Is that true?! Scary, lets hope they don't find out where we all live. I would dread to see what happens...

So a moderator could be hiding behind my curtains in my study now waiting to strike. Ooh scary....

Perhaps we should move this to the Mead Hall. A thread to make up scary stories about where the moderators are from. Actually that would be a very interesting and mystical thread...

When looking at the avatar lists I found some avatars that were in a separate category. These categories were MOD_F, Mod_M and Admin_M. All of these categories had either ninja style avatars or MTW assassin style avatars. Are these the only avatars that moderators can get?

A few moderators have had the skill to create their own avatar, or been persuasive enough to convince Tosa to allow something different...

Soly, Myrddraal, frogbeastegg, Epistolary Richard...

Every new staff member gets to clean the Org toilets... the practice was already established when I became moderator. I think it teaches us how to cope with unpleasant tasks ( if you can cope with the Org toilets you can cope with anything!

Compared to the Org toilets, the task of keeping the forums clean and safe for humans to use is easy. ( why don't you guys flush? )

Right so that is the legendry initiation ceremony, cleaning a load of toilets... DISCUSTING, as far as I can recall about my primary school days even those horrible, discusting, smelly toilets weren't that bad. Thing is who uses the .Org toilets. Members don't, and even the Moderators can't make that much mess! You should hire a (very good) cleaner or get Kim and Aggy (How Clean is Your House) in!

Supposedly the robes were easier to remove the blood stains.

But apparently bathing in blood of the backroom is hard to remove, and castrating with bricks really makes a mess that just doesn't wash out with ease.

My friend's critical appraisal of school staff toilets in English Secondry Schools:

Hi I don't have a clue what to say. I am Matthius' fellow teacher and have been at this school 3 years now. I can't wait to leave these damn kids. Nice toilets by the way - they're nearly as clean as the ones at our school when the cleaners have finished. Bye!!!!
Katherone of this river Rhine

Our staff toilets that we have to use are nearly as bad as the ones posted by Rob the Bastard and thats AFTER they have been cleaned! However the location is better, I don't have to walk over hill and dale and into a grassy swamp to get there.

So when I typed that she said to me:

It's a school - there is no worse location than our school where we work!

You can instantly tell by what she said that staff toilets in schools are disgusting! Terrible, smelly and horrible. Cleaning them would be more of a chore that cleaning the Org ones. And belive me it would be....

Yes, and I've seen a couple shine every now and then. I think Mydraal's has to be one of the most intimidating. The avatar's mask looks like just a face, making him look like a ghost. Very scary stuff. My wife was looking at the computer and saw something shiny (yes, I married an ADD woman) and so she asked if I would wait for it to go again. Needless to say, it took awhile.

Truth be told, I think Epistolary Richard's avatar creeps me out the most. There's something about the emptiness behind the mask's eyes that's positively sinister.... ~
