The Wheel of Modding turns, and Modders come and go, leaving work that becomes half-finished. Half-finished work fades to dead threads, and even dead threads are long forgotten when the Forum that gave them birth forgets to renew its domain name. In one Forum, called the Org by some, a Forum yet to come, a Forum long past, a flurry of posts rose....The flurry was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Modding. But it was a beginning...
At the moment of Creation, the Creative Assembly bound the Hardcoded One away from the world of humankind, but the Hardcoded One was able to touch the world and a taint settled on Saladin, the male half of the Mod Power, and every male coder went mad. In the Breaking of the Code they destroyed Civilization (pity, great game!) and changed the very face of the Total War engine.
And the women who could code decided to give it up and do something infinitely more important with their lives.
Doomed to madness, destruction, and even late nights by the taint of Saladin, male coders are hunted down by the females and gentled, cut off forever from the Mod Power for the safety of the world (and family, friends and a normal social life). No man goes to this willingly. Even if they survive the Hunt, they seldom survive long after gentling.
For more than three thousand years, while empires rose and fell, nothing has been so feared as a man who can code.
This is the world of The Wheel of Modding.
