This game rules. it is a cross between the hidden and dangerous games and silent storm. at first it is a bit daunting and there are a few bugs, but a serious attempt is made at realism and the mods accentuate the potential of the game.

the multiplayer battles feel the way they should - a trickle that slowly turns into a downpour. there is no command and conquer feel here and each unit is relatively important. if you lose your foothold, you don't easily get a do-over. the list of units in game is long and i just downloaded a mod that makes it longer.

I've been addicted to this game, particularly the multiplayer, for about a week now - my girlfriend is starting to get pissed. i urge you to play it

i haven't played COH yet, but don't really have the urge to. my PC can handle the graphics so don't just think I'm bitter about the high specs of COH. again, if you liked hidden and dangerous, this game is for you.

this game is the real tactical WW2 rts to buy

Isn't FoW more like a tactical shooter (as in you control only a handful of men), while CoH is a RTS? Sounds like apples and oranges to me...

Anyway, FoW has been bashed for bad controls, AI issues, linearity, poor pacing and bad singleplayer in general, with multiplayer its sole saving grace. The game doesn't even have a skirmish mode. Also, the focus of micromanagement (managing soldiers' inventories, ammo, fuel etc.) doesn't sound very appealing to me.

I think I'll pass this one, thanks for giving the heads-up though.

fair enough - but some of the best and most entertaining games recieved the worst reviews by the likes of gamespot. Ultima ascension, hidden and dangerous 1&2 to name a few.

if you dint like micromanagement, dont get it - but the multiplayer is one of the best rts' that ive played in a while

It would be awesome if they sorted the horrible lag for multiplayer and in some place ssingleplayer...
