I was playing Takeda in single. From Sagami I attacked a ronin province (Izu), with 4 units of high honour no-dachi. One unit was my heir Takeda Shingen. My ally Uesugi desided to join me. I let Uesugi lead the attack. He routed the ronins and pursued. I did nothing. And had no kills or losses. I was ready to attack Uesugi so that I could take the province. Then it ended and the window pops up and said victory!? And when I returned to the map, the province was Uesugi and all my No-dachi including my heir was gone!! Not fun.

Has anyone has tried this before?? Or similar?

I loaded the saved game and tried again. This time I was prepared, and before the ronin disappeared from the battlefield I attacked Uesugi and killed the daimyo.

The disapppearing heir and units sounds like a bug, but I don't think the fact that Uesugi won the battle is. The game thinks ah, they've driven the Ronin scum from the field of battle, they're allies, therefore they've won. It doesn't wait for you to decide to be perfidious.

Wasn't there a thread not long ago about which of 2 allies get a province and how. Can't remember the conclusion though.

I always march directly behind an ally and attack him just as he's getting the upper hand, i can't help it.

There have been so many bugs about heirs disappearing it doesn't surprise to learn of another.
