I received this email today, and was wondering if any other RTW modders had received it:
Hey there modder!
We'd like to remind you that the Independent Games Festival
(http://www.igf.com) is running its Mod Competition for the second
year, and the deadline is rapidly approaching. (The IGF is known as
the 'Sundance for indie games', and awards >$50,000 in prizes at Game
Developers Conference every year.)
After last year, where just specific game mods for HL2, Unreal
Tournament 2004, Doom 3 and Neverwinter Nights could enter, we've gone
more freeform, allowing mods from _ANY_ game to compete. From
_Thief_ to _Half-Life 2_ to _Oblivion_ to _The Sims_ and beyond, all
mods are eligible - as long as there has been a major update in the
last 12 months.
We will award $500 prizes for the finalists named Best Singleplayer
FPS Mod, Best Multiplayer FPS Mod, Best RPG Mod, and Best 'Other' Mod
finalists. Each of those winners will compete for an overall $5,000
Best Mod prize.
All the finalists for the Modding Competiton will also be playable in
the IGF Pavilion at Game Developers Conference in San Francisco from
March 7-9, 2007 - the finalists will be invited to exhibit their games
there! The deadline for mod competition entrants is OCTOBER 13, 2006
at 11:59pm PDT - care to enter? We'd love to get even more great mods
entered this year.
You can find detailed rules and submission procedures on the IGF
website at http://www.igf.com/03submit.html.
We look forward to playing the great mods that are out thereā¦thanks
and good luck!

Now, im quite suprised as it means my name has become quite well known, but im also surprised that they emailed me, as i do not consider my mods to be anything great, i would have thought NTW" or Blue Lotus is the kind of thing they were looking for.
