View Full Version : Romens, scripts, etc
Hello!
I've been enjoying a Romen camp for these last couple of weaks, but just one minute ago something strange happend. I load my save game and noticed the start date had been change to 14AD!
Every time I tried to start the background script the game did a CTD. So I press the "next turn botton" and was told I had lost the game. I chose to continue playing and tried to activate the background script again. This time it worked! I was put back in time to 248BC! :balloon2:
What just happend? Has it happend before?
Will this cause a future CTD, or will all the script work as usual?
The reforms, will they take place? At the right time?
If you forget to activate the script for a couple of years, what kinda game effects will that give?
Alot of questions sry! :sweatdrop:
Just one more!
If you conquer Rome as a faction will you be able to build any kind of "imitation legionares" or something like that?
THANKS, LOVEJOY.

Hello Lovejoy.
1. Yes, the Campaign script is known to cause CTD's.
2. It will cause a future CTD, unfortunately.
3. Yes, the reforms will take place at the right time.
4. The AI will be less powerful, for example. There are many things which won't be activated.
5. No, you won't be able to do that.
Welcome to the Org. ~
Lovejoy, the bug you describe is the apocalypse bug and was fixed in 0.7.4. This means that you are only running 0.7.2 or a savegame from 0.7.2 in a 0.7.4 build. You must download 0.7.4 from the website (it is under downloads -> patches) and install that over the rip of 0.7.2. Please note that savegames are not compatible from 0.7.2 to 0.7.4 and so you won't be able to carry on your campaign.

1. Yeah I know.
2. So I won't be able to continue my camp? Is it all lost? (I'v been playing for a couple of more years now, and so far no CTD)
3. Good.
4.Ah ok.
5.Ok
6. I've been around since May but thanks! :D
Thanks for helping. ;)

Nope, I'm playing 0.7.4beta. I am sure. :2thumbsup:
It is quite impossible that you could be, the apocalypse bug does not occur in 0.7.4 and it does in 0.7.2. I would make sure that you are using 0.7.4 by reinstalling it again and starting a new campaign. If you have got round the apocalypse bug then don't bother.

Well, I'm 100% positive I got 0.7.4 installed. I do have these 0.7.4 readme in the folder, and when I start the game it says "0.7.4".
I also have the Romen UI, the new resources and that speed up mod installed. Maybe it got something to do with that?
(I've been playing for 10 more years, no CTD's)

If he was using 1.5 the problem would be something different entirely...
Hehe, I'm using 1.2
One more question while I'm at it: The save/load bug, you most load the game for it to take effect right? If I would save every turn in scarness of getting an CTD, will that trigger the bug?

The Save/Load bg only occurs when you load a game, yes.
