The question is ... can we make a similar trailer for MTW2? We need to rip the music and use MTW2 animations ...

It was too cool to post it anywere else - Pls. move if a discussion starts and the sufoum will look unfit.

Yeah - brings out the warrior in you ... some ancient code that still lurkes in your genes.

As for the historic part ... I bet they used CA as a refernece source :) ... or maybe even got feedback from TW historians. They do look alike ... loll.

Can we move this trailer on MTW2? Do we have a movie maker? We can use the demo as material to work with.

I think this is frontroom material - off it goes.

Yeah. 300 is looking pretty badass (if completely historically inaccurate). Really looking forward to it.

Why is it not historically accurate?
Because it's based on a comic series not the real battle, duh ~D

This movie looks ridiculous! Ok, visually speaking it looks phenomenal but based on the trailer it looks like an overdose of overacting, stilted dialogue and silly shaq-fu style fight choreography lumped into one giant pile of ahistorical poo.

It's based on Frank Millers 300 (which is his overly fantastic take on Thermopolye). Most of the stuff you see in the trialer was taken, verbatum, from the comic. Like the pile of baby skulls when the guy is being inspected as an infant. Like I told someone else, 300 looks like the best fantasy film since LOTR. If you look at it as a fantasy movie (which is what it is) and not a historical movie, you'll enjoy it a lot more.

To further illustrate my point here is a side by side of a comic panel from 300 and a still from the movie.

This is the cmoic version of the toss the persian in a hole scene.

Went to see The Departed the other night and saw the 300 trailer.

Looks very, very cool.

I think the ancients will have told the story in the same way and the Spartans will have had tears in their eyes if they will have seen and understud this "theatrical" stroy for their great battle.

Me too. I had never heard of this before the trailer. I was very surprised.

We must learn true history, know the real facts about the heroism of those spartans. Sadly, what we will see is close to Titan Quest. The scene where Butler says "This is Spartaaaa!" is first class acting :laugh4: .
I will watch the movie though ~D

There wasn't much Spartan heroism to speak of in reality; they all just got skirmished to death, while the Immortals raced around and charged them from behind.

Looks very flashy (in a good way)...although what was the deal with the freaky looking wolf thing?...and the corn field gladiator rip-off? :laugh4:

Saw some very sin city shots in there too

And I hope they dont do they Lord of the rings thing and say there is only x amount of troops when there is clearly loads more (Helms deep and especially battle for minas tirith...5000 horses my arse!)

I take it this film is going to stretch the historical acurateness of the period?

300 (the comic) was written and drawn by Frank Miller, of Sin City fame. It was also shot in the same fashion. Used the comic panels as story boards, and was shot on blue screened sound stages. Although 300 appears to have much more foreground sets than Sin City did. Now 300 the comic was based on how Frank himself interpreted Thermopolae (I can't spell that :wall: ). Which means it's not that accurate. He put in the Persians having Japanese style face mask helms, an elephant (which the movie changed to a Rhino for some reason), and the Persian forces having large contingents of sub saharan africans.

My little lemur boy can't get enough of this preview. Now he's taken to running around the house and shouting "Spartans!" This forces me into convulsive fits of laughter.

Too bad he won't be able to watch the finished film. Too darn young.
