Playing a Brutii game (1.5, no mod, vh/m)

Got a chance to do something I ALWAYS enjoy. An Eggy force of experienced 1st and 2nd tier troops with 1 Pharoah bow is laying siege to Sardis -- last holding of the Selkies.

I send over my own full-stack, so its one for each of us. I attack and -- because I have a ballista with me -- get to attack immediately. So, now if "we" win, I get the burg as I'm the one who triggered an assult.

On the far side, the valiant Eggies are met at the gate and breaches by the hoplites and generals of the Selkie force. My gate is slowly knocked open -- I'm in no rush -- and my force moves forward under heavy a heavy cretan umbrella.

Ends up with 240 so routed Eggies surviving out of 1150ish, whereas my nearly 1200 suffer only 250 casualties or so -- about a 3rd of whom heal.

Nasty? Yes. But oh so fun.....

Sounds like fun Seamus, it's always great to play with an ally (or two) and compare results of them vs. you. The difference is especially horrendous with Medium battle difficulty, but even on VH it's almost never that an ally does equally as well as a "real" player.

Congrats on the successful assault, btw ~:)

Mostly I play VH/VH, but I just scrapped vanilla and went to 1.5, so I was keeping it simple at first.

I'd love to create a campaign fracas with 3-4 different nations at once -- oodles of fun.

Yes it's great!
It's very good if you're playing Julii and the Brutii are attacking Greek and Macedon provinces. You send in an army with only a ballista and an army nearby. You attack and the brutii will conquer the provinces for you.
