Hi!!!
I dunno if this has been posted before, but searching through the www for images of various units that hasn`t been previewed, and in the quest to find the true identity of the elusive bartix faction (on which I succeded :2thumbsup: ), I found that EB has an rather medium sized article in Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_Barbarorum
Kudos for the guy/gay/girl with enough time (and without a girlfriend to spend it, for sure) that made that article. I noticed that the Saka-Rauka are mentioned in it, so that article should have been made public after 11/7/06...
Great work!!!, okey, bye.
PS1: I won`t tell you the identity of the occultus faction. Okey! I`ll tell you. The missing faction is...
Mordor. It`s shield represent a mountain goat that inhabits the Ash Mountains, and it serves as the mount of the 9 Nazgûl (Teleklos -he`s both nazgul and sauron`s mouth-, Kull, Urnarma, Aymar, TK, Eadingas, Krusader, Psycho, Shigawire).
PS2: Please don`t kill me :laugh4::laugh4: :laugh4: :surrender:
From Wikipedia
Mordor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordor)
In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Mordor is the dwelling place of Sauron, in the southeast of Middle-earth to the East of Anduin, the great river. Frodo and Sam went there to destroy the One Ring. Mordor was unique because of the three enormous mountain ridges surrounding it, from the North, from the West and from the South, that protected this land from an unexpected invasion by any of the people living in those directions.
So k_raso, you either are completely insane or you didn't read the whole article. That sort of thing might turn up in Lord of the Rings Total War, but not in a historically accurate mod such as EB.

Don't you know that you shouldn't use wikipedia as a historical reference :laugh4:

Anyway, back on topic: I have read this article, but most of it is from the EB home page.

I hope that you understood that it was a joke.

You are correct. I cannot take that sort of joke. Some people may think that what k_raso said is truth so it is my duty to inform such people that he is wrong.

Yes, but they are generally not the target audience for EB... morons...
And who hasn't seen the LOTR movies or read the books at some point?
I haven't. Who has time for such fantasies?

Friday 13, anyone?
I actually thought that my post wasn`t funny at all, but then Matthius appeared...
Thank you buddy! :sweatdrop:
PS: BTW, the center of this thread is the Europa Barbarorum Wikipedia entry... :book:
PS2: I think Matthius wants to drown me in a swamp.

Gah! Can't people talk about EB here instead of other craziness? I have no idea what this is all about.
Here, talk about this WIP instead:

Hurra for bribery! And for new german standard bearers.
I quite like it. It's much better that the CA skin, it looks very Germanic.
I will ignore all comments for now, unless another one is made about me!

And I really like the German standard bearer. Looks like he could actually swing that mother around and use it like a club, instead of some ornament.

According to wikipedia The Lord of the Rings is ranked 4th in the all time best selling books list with approximately 100,000,000 copies sold so a fair few have managed :2thumbsup:

The battles and warfare in LotR (the book, not the movie) are quite real, though, based on actual historical accounts, even if they have elves and orcs. Tactically, they can be traced down to every detail, as can be attested by various fan-made maps. Battle of Pelennor is copy of Battle of Chalons, and some pre-LotR wars between Gondor and Easterlings are based very clearly on Roman Empires wars with Huns and Goths. (I can't remember now on which historical event was the Battle of Celebrant Fields based...)
Tolkien was an avid history fan, especially the period of Anglo-saxon invasions and Great Migrations. If he was alive, and we were making a BI or VI era mod, he'd be a valuable addition to the team :)

I think the reason people don't talk about EB anymore is because they don't have anything else to talk about. Maybe if you release another preview or uncover the occultus faction we would start talking about EB again.....

Well, they could just release 0.8 :sweatdrop:

We'd like to. It doesn't have recruitment in for the new units though, and the units are only recently added, so there are still problems with a few of them. We've gotta get that down first and the other batch of units in and smoothed out. Then we'll let it out to you guys.

THAT is a very nice WIP, very nice indeed.
0.8 will be done when it's done
And hopefully it will be done soon.
We will? :)
