I haven't finished the game but it sems to me something that would ad alot to it would be the holding of a Triumph (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Triumph) for a powerfull general at the end of a succesfull campaign.

You remember the triumph from Roman history: a massive parade and celebration, the triumphant generals armies, spoils, and captured enemy faction leader marching through the streets of Rome. The general got to be "Jupiter for a day", riding in his army through rome on an ancient chariot with a slave standing behind him, holding a laurel crown over his head (but not touching his head!) and whispering in the generals ear the whole time, "Remember thou art mortal!".

In the game, when you have nearly entirely destroyed an enemy faction and they only have one settlement left you could get a mission from the senate: "Take (the last remaining city)" Reward: "Triumph held for you in Rome".

Of course certain strict conditions would have to be met to qualify for a triumph- being a consul or praetor etc.

There could be a nice long "triumph animation" and your faction approval risen to full bars in both the senate and people for one turn, only to return back to normal afterwards.

Triumphs acheived could be listed on character cards.

Get and play the Europa Barbarorum (https://www.europabarbarorum.com) mod. It has a set of conditions that Roman generals must meet to receive a Triumph, and they're honoured with titles etc afterward. Quite the accomplishment!
