This is a small matter but IMO I can't compare the portraits in MTW 2 with those used in rest of the TW franchise. Those of MTW are awesome, built as paintings, a strong point for the atmosphere in the game. In RTW the portraits are realistic, showing the ageing process.
But in MTW 2 this aspect is neglected. There is nothing interesting about them.

Anyway I hope the game lives to the expectations and this portrait problem will be unimportant :2thumbsup:

The MTW portraits aged. Or rather, they occasionally changed when events happened. Princes assuming the throne would be (at least sometimes) given new portraits.

I don't remember how often or what triggered it specifically, but I do remember that with generals aging and dying off, the portrait seldom ever changed.

I guess they have left them as in RTW, i.e. ageing but just made them more variable and more detailed.

What would be really cool would be if your experienced genereals along with going grey could get scars and eyepatches etc.

I haven’t seen enough to know but yes MTWs were very nice and RTWs were really detailed I think also RTWs changed depending on how many battles the person had had if he had been a governor for a while it showed him often without a helmet. I think its based on how long its been since the character fought a battle.
