View Full Version : I Want To Help Out With A Mod.
But sadly, the only skill I've got is an imagination and good English. :embarassed:
Yes, despite years of online multiplayer gaming, posts on boards and messages on forums, I can still talk, type and write in almost perfect English, including grammar.
But I guess that isn't really helpful to any mod, is it?
I suggest you learn the text editing aspect of modding.... you have all the skills you need. No special tools required.
As it stands, though, you are right about what a mod team would need, and good grammar and ideas are not what most mods are lacking! Most would be more excited by a modeller, skinner or map maker!

all the tutorials are in the scriptorium section... i suggest starting simple with just changing a few things to do with units and then if you feel like it download GIMP or get photoshop and try your hand at mapping, everyone has to start somewhere
I haven't modelled before but I have re-textured.
The most I've modded was a half of a total conversion mod for MTW (No new animations but it was a complete conversion, new map etc.) and a few skin changes for Stronghold 2 using GIMP. :shame:
No skills.....but you can re-texture!
That's a skill, and one useful to modding! Drop me a PM...if your style fits and you are up to scratch, I could sure use a hand with my texturing! I need to greyscale up my base textures and then 'colour' them with an overlaid tint for each faction....and that is just for starters!
