Moved to Hardware/Software forum.

If you know the name of the Trojan, you might be able to Google it and find a fix.

I believe it is a Sheriff Spy or something like that. It has a bunch of Anti-Virus pop-ups that say my computer is infected with a Trojan and this certain software "if you buy it" will get rid of it.

If you Google "SpySheriff" you'll get pages and pages about it. I can't say one bit of info is better than the other because I simply don't know.

Anyone here know about this?

Have you tried just restoring your PC to an earlier restore point? It might be all you need to do.

I think that's what I'm going to have to do. If that doesn't work then I don't know what else.

Download Spybot S&D from here... (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/), update it and run a full scan, then let it fix all problems (select them first), that should get rid of it. If not then you may need to download and run hijackthis from here... (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.php)

Extract it to a folder in your system root, e.g. C:\hijackthis\ and run it. Do a system scan and create a log file, send me the logfile via pm or post it up here. There is also a guide to manual removal of SpySheriff here for you to try if all else fails: http://www.delphifaq.com/faq/windows_user/f850.shtml

Yeah, I had a problem with a Trojan a little while ago, but Spyware Doctor fixed it rather easily.

Spy sheriff? let me guess your computer infected with spyware! click here to fix the problem!

Anyway this should help you..

http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal:_SpyAxe_Removal

And a direct guide to removing it..

It is recomended before doing any of this though you run an online scan to see if theres anything else you didnt know on your computer. Performe an online Anti Virus scan. Heres the best one I personly use from timw to time as a regular check up.

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

it wont delete anything but jot down anything that it finds minus tracking cookies as there not important.

If after running through those guides theres still problems down Hijack this:

I will say this once and only once. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YOU FIND. iT IS POSIBBLE TO TRASH YOUR ENTIRE SYSTEM REGISTERY IF YOU ATMEPT TO DO THIS AS NOT ALL THE THINGS FOUND ARE THREATS. SAVE THE LOG AND POST IT. This can be done either or if you want to save a bit of time go to www.castlecops.com. You will have to reigster at there forums mind to post a hijack this log but if you dont wish to reigster im already a member there so can get it looked at for you.

That enough helpful links for you? ~;)

Gah I should of read you think you have fixed it. Anyway I would recomend running the panda active scan just to make sure theres nothing else lurking on your system.
