Help! mods cause ctd before game starts

Whenever I try to install any mod or mod myself the game will ctd before the introduction video. This happens even if I change something and then change it back to the exact same as it had been in rtw vanilla. Am I missing something obvious?:wall:

That's a little vague. If you are following the instructions carefully then I can only assume you have some set up or installation that is not as it should be - for whatever reason.

Add -show_err to the shortcut you use to run the game.
If you then get a CTD, you'll get an error message which usually explains what caused the CTD.
