What are you looking forward to the most?, I am looking forward to Religion, It seems that it is going to be a lot more important than it was before and the whoel College of Cardinals and Papal election thing sounds great though I am a bit worried about the risk of Inuisitors killing my best generals.

The medieval setting. Really, I got tired of the Classic era and I'm looking forward to some Dark Age bloodbaths, with knights, men-at-arms and crusades.
I love the Medieval era, need I say any more?
The Medieval setting. While Rome wa sinteresting and different, it was hard to relate to the whole era for someone who's not a total history buff. The Medieval timeframe is more familiar with it's nations, units and religious aspect.

Good point. I'm not really into ancient history (more into modern) and found barbarians plain boring, even when I played Julii I swung around and took on Macedon. I'm really looking forward to taking on English, French, Spanish et al (admittedly as HRE who arn't around nowadays but still, basically germans :P)

Playing as a Muslim faction and killing the Pope and later invading the Americas (Aztecs vs. Muslims.I'd pay to see that).:laugh4:

I am also looking forward to the Papal elections and interaction with the Pope; though he will be a pain at times. I also look forward to the pike and musket units later in the game. I really don't like the Medieval period; I like Ancients and Napoleonic much more, but I am getting excited for MTW2.

If they rebuilt the diplomacy system to actually make sense, then that. If not, I'll just kill everything.

I'm also looking forward to playing the campaign without any CTDs and hoping it will work just like, if not better than MTW.
Medieval is my favorite era, it used to be prehistoric where man first built tools and crap, but now it's different.
Playing mods!
Mods of the Medieval era fixing the bits of M2TW that are unsatisfactory, mods of the Rome period with the game improvements offered by the M2TW engine and mods of Sengoku Japan too :2thumbsup:

The game in and of itself. I don't usually mod games, cause such things worry me and I fear it breaking my game lol.
Muddy soldiers & degenerating equipment. I think it will look great, if you are on a conquering tour far away from the heartland and all your man become "bums" in armour....
I'm looking forward to a new pc which I'll probably buy next year, so that I'll be able to run the game in decent settings...

Well, I'm looking forward to many of the things that other members have mentioned here with MTW2 but I'm also looking towards how far and wide the Total War series can eventually go.
Imagine one day, perhaps a few more versions into the series, where you have a campaign that challenges you through and through... generals learn, adapt and utilize daring tactics against you, kings and emperors deceive, plot and form secret alliances against you, discontented citizens arm themselves or align with enemies to throw off your yoke, jealous rivals and family members meet in shadows with dark figures to eliminate you, enemy armies leave in their wake your lands scorched and burned as they march on your cities and your loyal armies marching into foreign lands carrying your banner and your will onto your enemies...
That is Total War...
Again as most people I am thrilled to see the medieval setting again. I think the improved graphics are gonna be excellent, superficial i knw :laugh4:
The crusades and trying for global domination.:whip:
The relationships with religion are gonna be cool, electing your bishop pope should be cool
Hah! I am looking forward to building my trade routes around the world and buying everyone. I don't need no stinking army, I can buy and sell you!

The top ten things I am looking forward to in Medieval 2.
10. Manipulating the college of cardinals to elect the pope of my choice.
09. Assassinating usurpers to my throne.
08. Crusading against the Infidels.
07. Building the grandest Cities and Castles the world has ever seen.
06. Executing all rebels, to make my people fear me.
05. Leading my armies to victory against all factions who stand against me.
04. To increase the wealth for my faction, so I can skim off the top and become rich at the expense of my people.
03. To read Machiavelli's The Prince and Sun Tzu's Art of War for pointers on how to achieve my goals.
02. To spy, bribe, sabotage, and assassinating my way to power.
01. To Rule the world in my iron fist.
Caldora I think you clicked the wrong button, did you mean Bold rather than spoiler??

I seem to have hit the wrong button on my last post, did not intend to make it a spoiler, but trying to use bold. :laugh4:
Is there an edit post option on this thing?
Only if you are a member! Not to flame the forum or anything, but why can you only edit if you are a member?
