View Full Version : What's Your Gender Expression?

Or, how a 70 year old man got into the woman's restroom on the NYC subway by wearing woman's clothes:

Girls' room his, too
Transgender men free to use ALL of MTA's loos
BY PETE DONOHUE
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
The line for the girls' room just got longer.
Men who live as women can now legally use women's rest rooms in New York's transit system under an unprecedented deal revealed yesterday.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority agreed to allow riders to use MTA rest rooms "consistent with their gender expression," the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund announced yesterday.
The group filed a complaint against the MTA on behalf of a 70-year-old telephone repair technician who was arrested for using the women's room at Grand Central Terminal.
The technician, who is assigned to the terminal by Verizon, was born Henry McGuinness but now goes by Helena Stone.
"I'm a 24-hour woman," Stone declared proudly. "I just feel like a woman and I like to wear women's clothes."
The MTA would not comment on the settlement but Stone's lawyer said it also includes mandatory transgender sensitivity training for MTA employees and a $2,000 payment to the technician for legal fees.
Michael Sullivan, Stone's lawyer, called the settlement of the complaint with the Human Rights Commission a "milestone" toward recognition of the city law that prohibits discrimination against transgender men and women.
But some Metro-North riders at Grand Central yesterday were stunned by the ruling.
"I would not like that," said Gloria David, a retiree from Connecticut. "I have nothing against gay men or drag queens, but they can use the men's room. I just don't want to go to the bathroom next to a man."
One rider feared predators might dress as women and lurk in the women's room.
But Rena Gantz, 23, a college student, shrugged off the settlement.
"It doesn't bother me because it is a reality," she said. "If they believe they are women, they should be treated as one."
I love the clueless college student. 'It is a reality'. One of many, I suppose.
Oh, and how long before creeps start going in the women's restroom and saying their 'gender expression' is female? What a stupid deal.

It's good to know, now all we need are animal toilets, because I was born in the wrong body and I should have been a turtle...:dizzy2:
Also keep in mind that this opens up stalking on toilets, you just gotta be bold enough to wear female clothes.:2thumbsup:

Although the reasoning is a bit kooky, I'm not sure it will be that much of a problem really. It's not like a ladies' room provides too many peeping opportunities-all of the 'action' takes place in cubicles.

I was in a service station this summer, on the august bank holiday weekend, and the queue for the women's toilets was so massive that the ladies were coming into the gents' instead. People didn't seem to be bothered that much by this, which I thought was odd as if I attempted to use the ladies' in most places, I'd be escorted out of the building pretty quickly. This pretty much happens at any coleseum event in the USA (sports, concerts, etc) where they serve beer. Men don't mind at all. I suppose you could theoretically claim the legal right to enter the women's room, but who would want to? Takes 3 times as long.
Ironside, is it Sweden where public restrooms are unisex?
The home point of gender segregation is (for privacy purposes) to keep people of one gender in a different room than people of the other gender. It makes no sense to let a man go into a woman's bathroom. You might as well not even pretend you are trying for segregation. If I was a woman I would be scared to death if a guy came into the ladies' restroom while I was there. I have several gay friends...aquantences...and I can tell you, they mostly do not like women at all, but have no quams with having sexual intercourse with them. With the right person, that could be rape. I don't want to discriminate, but it is a fact that on average, gay men are a lot more sexually driven that straight men, thereby increasing the chances. Also, a lot of rapes, esp. on underage girls, are done by gay men as a submission act to women whom they dislike. As I said above, I do not want to discriminate, I'm not saying that all gay men are like this, but just as men are more sexually driven than women, and commit more acts of sexual submission tyhan women, so gay men do more than straight men.

Sexual orientation and gender expression are some of the most instinctual elements of humanity.
Instances like these definitely raise tough questions that an open, tolerant society must ponder, but tormenting these poor people is the lowest form of cowardly "if they aint like us i dont like 'em" neanderthal-like idiocy.

It seems a lot of people here don't seem to get how uncomfortable it might be for women to have men coming and going in their restroom.
Sexual orientation and gender expression are some of the most instinctual elements of humanity.
And these people have messed up instincts. Not that this has anything to do with the rightness of it.

Actually, there's hardly need for pondering. Men go into the men's restroom, whether their dressed as freaks or not, and women go into the women's restroom. We don't have to be tolerant of people who try and force their lifestyle on the public. Fine, be a freak and think you're a woman. But don't think that makes you one legally. Allowing a person's feelings to determine how the law applies to them is astoundingly foolish.
It also appears some are much to willing to ignore the very real potential for creeps and sexual predators to use this to their advantage.

How did they catch the guy if he was a 24 hour woman dressing and feeling like a woman? I would guess if he acted like a woman and looked like a woman he shouldn’t have had any issues. Who figured it out and busted this guy I’m wondering.
My opinion, There is a boys and a girls bathroom and you should use the one you are properly “equipped” to use or be discrete and polite and no one will ever know.
Some 6’ 5” hairy fat dude with a giant adams apple should not be wearing a dress trying to use the woman’s bathroom, that guy is a freak and I don’t care how many times he says he is a woman trapped in a mans body, if he has a unit and cant pass as a woman he needs to be using the guys bathroom.

That makes sense to me. Legal groups such as have been described in the article that pressure institutions for change often have little regard for the group they are supposedly "representing". Money, power, and many other factors are far more prominent in their minds.
Fine, be a freak and think you're a woman. But don't think that makes you one legally. Allowing a person's feelings to determine how the law applies to them is astoundingly foolish.

What I dont agree with is demeaning transsexuals for something they cannot change.
Sure, they can wear guys clothes and act(as best they can) like a guy, but that doesnt change the fact that deep down that isnt who they are.
I prefer living in a world where people who are different dont have to live their lives hiding who they truly are. Its not against the law and its not hurting anyone.
Whether you want to call them different or mentally ill, that doesnt change the fact that they are not deserving of scorn from someone such as yourself.
It is very obvious if you do a little research of different cultures and different parts of history that the current social norms are not the same as those 100 years ago and certainly wont be those of 100 years in tew future.
So maybe spend a little less time calling others names, and a little more time improving yourself... cause we all know that human imperfection is a big part of the christian mantra.. no? 8)

Transexuals (ones who have had their bits lopped off) are technically neither. They have had their bits made to look like a vagina, but notably lack the female genitals. Thus they are not female. They also cannot see a penis, since they have decided to have someone fiddle around with it to make it look not very much like a penis at all.

We don't need to lock people up because the majority disagree with their actions.
As for the subject at hand. Bathrooms are segregated by gender for the reason of making people comfortable in a public area while using the toilet. If the guy couldn't pull off a women well enough then yes they need to leave the womens restroom if their making them uncomfortable. As for the mens restroom, everyones welcomed there.
Btw with this line of judgement being acceptable. I demand a Texan restroom. Siting next to a yank and pinching a loaf makes me feel uncomforatble! Trying to use the urinal around them gives me stage fright, I demand a Texan bathroom. I've even found the symbol they can use for it.

You can go to the FBI website and see, multi/transgender people commit acts of sexual violence over twice as many times as straight people. If you want to let guys into the woman's rest rooms, make the restrooms unisex. It makes no sense to have a Woman's restroom if you're going to let guys into. What you say about women being homophobic is Bullshit if you'll pardon my French. If a straight guy decides he has an obsesion with women's toilets and goes into a woman's restroom she would get just as uncomfortable. As a matter a fact, I would feel pretty darn uncomfortable if a woman (straight or not) came into the guts resteroom while I was there.

Maybe you dont understand homosexuality. If all these gay guys were having sex with girls, what makes them gay?
Show me statistics? Show me proof...
Gay guys are the guys who have such a confused view on reality (and are on average perverts. (I'm not saying all are, but studies show that gays have sex much more often than straights, are more likely to sleep with multiple partners in their lifetime, engage in kinky practices more often, and commit beastiality more often.)
They are guys who want to be woman, and so fantasice that they are, including dressing as one. I always wanted to be President of the United States of America, but I didn't go around like a wacko pretending I was.
You are right, there are always whores, but studies (including government surveys) show that Gays are more of whores on average. A lot of gays will rape a woman to show dominance over her. It is all well and good for you, a gay, to say that womendon't have to worry about gays, but look at FBI statistics (of their main website) - they certainly do. I have known to gay men from my small community that BOTH ended up raping women (one a seven year old girl, not even a woman). They were good friends of mine that women felt completely at ease around; they thought they were cute and funny, and safe. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with gays, but a woman's restroom is a woman's restroom. A guy is a guy, even if he wants to be a woman - I want to be President. Does that mean the Government should make me President?
Yes. At least those who don't mind looking at a man and a woman hugging. And don't nitpick the word, you know what I mean.

On the contrary, you seem determined to force your lifestyle on us. People of different opinions and preferrences always dissagree and argue, sexual segregation was designed to stop this as well as protect women.

So I don't need to be tolerant of those "freaks" who want to force my kids to pray to their particular god in school, or teach their fairy tale stories in science classes?
I only mention it because you seem to be so against people trying to force their lifestyles on others...
~;)On the contrary, you seem determined to force your lifestyle on us. People of different opinions and preferrences always dissagree and argue, sexual segregation was designed to stop this as well as protect women.
There'll always be guys, no matter what they claim their sexual preference to be, who are going to want to rape women; It is in women's best interests to keep men out of their bathrooms. You're not sexist are you Goofballs?
Your reply makes no sense. I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I mean that literally. I have read it several times and I really have no idea what you are trying to say.
What lifestyle of mine am I trying to force on everybody else by objecting to mandatory school prayer?
What gay man would ever want to rape women?
Why do you insist on placing women in the victim role?
I have many other questions, but I'll start with those.

There is so much wrong with this post. :dizzy2:
In any event, I looked through the FBI website, but I only found statistics on gay people being beaten and killed because of their sexual orientation. Maybe you could post a direct link?

This reminds me of a story.
A long, long time ago (actually about 6 monts ago) there was an election in Italy, and Italy then had its first transgender MP. Some other MP pondered about what would happen if transgender MP's need to go pee, and filed an initiative proposal that the parliament building should have a transgender toilet next to the male and female ones. The transgender MP denounced the proposal because it would lead to "gender apartheid".
Italian politics are hilarious ~:joker:

This thread is not closed because it is about a timely event that shapes our future, and I, for one, take it very seriously.
The other day I was in the restroom and I heard a "man" in the stall grunting like he was going number two, but it was a hihg pitched, pansy grunt, not a manly grunt. Then when it hit the water, it was a tiny plopping sound, not a big, hefty splash, and I was like "no way, that's a transgender in there pretending to be a man!" so I kicked open the door to place him under citizen arrest, but it turns out it wasnt a transgender at all, it was a real life woman who had only snuck into the bathroom because she thought i was handsome and wanted to meet me, and she said she suddenly had to go poo so she did. I was like "hey, nice to meet you too, you're kind of cute there takin a dump little lady, why don't you finish and we can head out and get a malt" and so we did and now I think I'm in love with her big blue eyes, jiggly bosom and little girlie bowel movements. Life is crazy sometimes.

Seriously though, isn't it curious that those who seem to have to major issues accepting homosexuals and transgendered people don't mind the idea of invading other countries, killing thousands of innocent people and locking others away indefinitely without trial. Hell, a bit torture doesn't matter either if it's for a good cause with these guys. But GAYS! Holy shit! A transexual person wants to use a bathroom appropriate to their gender! That is what gets them frothing at the mouth.:dizzy2:
Perhaps that's a little unfair but there really does seem to be a link there.
Anyway, I really don't see the problem here. Gender is not defined by having a penis or vagina, it is culturally determined. This isn't an issue at all and it can be worked out by the women present (including the transgendered woman) at the time.
Sexual orientation and gender expression are some of the most instinctual elements of humanity
Instances like these definitely raise tough questions that an open, tolerant society must ponder, but tormenting these poor people is the lowest form of cowardly "if they aint like us i dont like 'em" neanderthal-like idiocy.
I dont know which restroom transvestites should use, but I do know they are people just like everyone else. Their lives are already hard enough without the cruel mocking of the close minded.
Very well said PoP!

Wow, this thread is absolutely crazy. I'd like to say a few things:
1. Vuk, I think you are going a little overboard on the gay/transexual thing. You are making the assumption that all of them are potential rapists, and that they go around violently hurting people and raping women. Like others have pointed out, there are many things so wrong with your post(s).
2. What kind of sick freak would get turned on by the women's bathroom? To me, if I saw a hot woman take a dump she would become about as attractive as the waste she just deposited... Some people are just really weird.
3. Men's bathrooms are for men, women's bathrooms are for women. I really do get tired of the double standard that BKS pointed out. I've seen several women in the men's locker room or bathroom and I immediately feel uncomfortable. It's just as wrong.
4. If we made a law everytime women felt 'uncomfortable' then we would be prohibited from doing almost anything. Why are we always portraying women as eternal victims? Don't they find that patronizing? I know some women who are outright tired of being seen as poor, little victims that need to be helped through everything. Are you a sexist Vuk? Two can play at this silly game.:clown:
I have been very amused by this thread.

Good, I'm not the only one. I gotta give this Vuk fella credit. He's quite possibly my new favorite poster (sorry Navaros, you've been relegated to number 2).
Please, I'd like to hear more on your theories of the homosexual plot to instill fear in women by raping them. Have you by chance ever caught Will & Grace? Have you ever, by chance, caught the running joke on Will & Grace? Didn't think so... But peace out, Vuk, what you lack in accumen, you make up for 3 times in entertainment value.

There is also a plot amongst Lesbians to rape men. It's something that often goes unnoticed because men are too proud, and often think they deserved it because they were wearing AXE body spray.
I am also think that gay woman get their own moniker, lesbian, while gay men are just gay, or homosexual, two terns that also apply to gay women.
Therefore, in the name of equality and good will, I hereby request all gay men be referred to as Mensbians henceforth.

Only if we can call a man's penis a "mangina" (thank you Duece Bigilow) and the woman's vagina the "holiest of holies" (Thank you Pulp Fiction)..
Agreed?

My little brother is transgender, I will say no more than I Love Him Dearly, I support him in everything he does, and I will fight for the causes he believes in. Its nice and easy for you people that don't have that personal link, to say ridiculous things, make callous remarks, and drag your filthy hate spewing garbage (opinions) into this.
I wonder what Dev Dave's response would be, if one of his siblings, who he took care of growing up since childhood, who sacrificed everything for his well being, grew up to be a transexual. Would really care weather he uses a men's room or a woman's room.
Ya know, I even expect to get flamed for saying this. But I don't care, my loyalty to my family, is far more important to me than choosing weather I take a piss in a man's restroom, or a woman's restroom.

What about my families "right" not to be sexually preyed upon by mentally ill sociopaths? What about a "right" to be protected from these people? Liberals make up these fake rights in the interest of furthering their agenda of madness.

I don't "hate" your brother but I still think he's sick. I have an older sister who's normal, so I wouldn't understand your hypothetical. I've got an aunt who's a crackhead. Can I join your "I've got a screwed up family member, so don't give your honest opinions or you'll be labeled a hatemonger" club? I'll have to ask the folks next time I see them if we have any homosexuals in the family, I feel like I'm missing out on something here.:laugh4:

Perhaps I wrote too much in haste. I just, wish men didn't play so much into their own fears (or some people masking their fantasy with saying mean things, and being fearful) of getting savagely anal raped sometime in their life, as I do imagine it would be an unpleasant experience, but one I'm not very afraid of happening to me personally. I've never had a bad experience with a gay person, other than being hit on, which I guess happens to most guys, wether they know it or not. And not too mention, the whole shpiel about transexuals going into women's stalls to rape them seems rather far fetched, as it would be just as easy to don a ski mask, and not have to worry about running away in a dress and high heels.

It's called the "Doctrine of infallibility". Liberals will always find some unassailable victim stronghold which allows them to attack while hiding behind a shield of grief, victimhood, disease, or something similar. They use this to shut out honest debate and close out freedom of speech. That is why they so quickly turn to accusations of racism, homophobia, etc. Liberals are the ultimate destroyers of free speech because their policies and the motivation behind these policies cannot stand up in open debate. They hide and pretend to be something they are not, while using victims as a shield.
Wakizashi, sorry to hear about your brother. That sucks. But I hope he uses a men's room my friend.

I agree. And I noticed I was using my own personal bias to shut out the opinions of others. So While I will not retract my original statement, please feel free to use it as your leisure.
And, my brother does use a men's room, not that I honestly care. But I don't think that'll be the case for too long, what with the whole changing who you are, plastical surgery stuff going on these days.
