I've just been playin a GA MTW VI where I was at war a lot (not my folt honest) and my heir was three years to late. So my empire Disintegrated but whats strange instead of the usual rebels my empire is being taken over be Sweds. Is this something to do with the Swede prince being English or something? :clown:

Was by any chance one of your princesses married to the Swedish king or one of his heirs? If that was true, then it would explain it.

Yea around 5 years before my king died, without an heir. :furious3:

Thats one hell of a succession for the Swedes, I can only think of a couple of occasions that i've inherited something and once the Mongols inherited Aragon when the last Aragonese king died which was quite funny since its the complete opposite side of the map. Suffice to say the Aragonese soon revolted.
It just never seems to happen to me these days.

The only time I inherited something was when I was Irish in VI and the Saxon royal line went extinct. I got two provinces and what's more, a bunch of huscarles :2thumbsup:
It would be great if your line is extinguished, you could continue the game with a faction that inherited part of your land. If multiple princes were wed out to different factions, pick one and wage a war of succession!

I've inherited lands a number of times playing MTW, although I'll never claim it's a frequent occurrence. It never happened to me in the VI campaign, though--that's a new one for me!

Hmm. Yes, that would definitely be tons of fun!
Imagaine waging a civil war against multiple claimants to the throne, during which all the while your nation descends into anarchy.... Ah, that would be glorious!

Yeah, it would have been great if there were more then two sides if a civil war occurs, though that would be tricky to implement. More practical and also pretty neat would be if some of your generals and provinces align themselves with a foreign king who has ties of blood or marriage to one of your previous kings.
Overall though I think MTW civil wars are great (if somewhat inflexible) and they're one of the key features that make MTW stand out above other games

Agreed; civil wars are fun! Plus, the fact that you get to *choose* which side you want to back (the Loyalists or the "Rebels") is simply awesome. I highly doubt there's another PC strategy game out there that gives you that option.
My only wish is that the Rebels would act in a coordinated manner--essentially, behaving as their own faction. I know Rome's BI expansion pack had this, and I'm admittedly a little jealous of this fact. Would that such a feature had made it into MTW!

Hmm.... bit of blue-sky thinking here, with nothing much to base it on, but I wonder if renaming the rebels for each province to have the same name across the whole map would do the trick???
The thinking is that some rebel "groups" appear in more than one province - I think the Welfs are one, and there's also a Russian rebel grouping which comes in more than one province. I have seen this Russian group of rebels expand and take over quite a few provinces, with units moving between provinces just like the "real" factions do, balancing stacks etc. Now this may be 'owt or nowt', but could be worth a try....

Well MTW rebels aren't full blown "mini factions" but it's at least possible to have different stances towards different rebels, neutral or hostile wich allows you to trade with some of them.
I don't have BI but from what I understand the WRE and HRE rebels seem like a nice touch. However only the Romans are awarded this feature, but it's at least better then the family/senate structure in RTW.
