Now, for some reason that used to be one of my favourite games... I think the salvaging and mechwarrior training bit is the key. It was very satisfying to recover a good chassis from the battlefield. Some of the missions were painfully hard, especially the one where you escort the ambulances, and the other where you have to protect the farms using the minelayer. :2thumbsup:

Nowadays I only play MTW, with an occasional bash at STW or RTW(RTR). In the past I played the Bioware games. Baldur's Gate II was the last Bioware title I ever played. I started to get too much into STW and never bothered with BGII/ToB until much later, when I picked it up for £5 in a sale. I remember installing it and trying to get back into it again but it didn't hold my interest for more than a few hours before I gave up.

Before that I was mainly an FPS player, starting out with DOOM and working through Quake, Quake3, Half-Life/CS and UT. I really can't play those type of games any more now, and have not played any games of this type newer than the first UT game.

The Thief series was also good, as was System Shock 2, but it all gets a bit repetitive after a while.

I would have liked to learn to play (combat) flying sim games, such as IL-2 Stormovik or Top Gun, but learning how to fly from the keyboard controls takes too long for me (unlike the old F-16 Falcon by Sierra, which had fewer controls), and doing the actual flight from the base to the target area takes an even longer time--I get bored. Well, maybe being a pilot isn't really for me, so I'd just stick to being a hoplite or barbarian warchief instead. Hawooh.
