Help Required - Text Editors

Included in EB 0.8 will be many new building and unit descriptions. Many of these descriptions will contain grammar and spelling errors and will require revisions. We need two volunteers to help proofread these descriptions.

This is not an easy job! All volunteers must have a good understanding of the english language and plenty of time. Those selected must be willing to put in at least one month of all-out, dedicated text editing.

I hope to see many people apply, filling these positions is very important if we are going to have good, cleaned-up descriptions in 0.8.

I'm willing to do some proofreading.

Although not a native speaker myself, I think I have a good understanding of the language. I'm at best making sure that sentences don't keep going on like endlessly and keeping it understandable. (Some of the current descriptions are full of exceedingly long lines, which makes them quite hard to understand if you're not a native speaker, or you're not used to that kind of sentences.) I'm also good at grammar nitpicking jobs.

I can proofread, alter, and send a bunch of descriptions at least each weekend.

I am a native speaker with a degree in English from the University of California Santa Barbara and worked as a website content editor for over three years. It sounds like you have a daunting task ahead of you.

I regret I probably do not have the time to go full steam on this for you, but I may be able to help with a couple of hours a week. Afterall, some help is better than none.

I'm not a modder, so I wouldn't know what files to proof. Can you give an example of the type of material we would be dealing with?

Exceedingly long uninterrupted sentences bother even native speakers of english without a solid way to break a thought or to show what the previous line was referring too it becomes very hard to understand it and being it's EB often the information is like reading a text book even more confusing with out proper sentence construction though your right alot of times native speakers of a language wont even notice their reading a document that has no punctuation
