View Full Version : More Family Members
Ok, my question is can we program the game to produce more generals?.
The game already produces generals at a ratio of members:settlements. I dont know what that ratio is, i thought it was 3:4, or even 1:2, but is there an option in the folders to edit it, so the game produces more family members?

Don't think so, I think the ratio of what it thinks is needed is hardcoded.
You could try ammending the factions starting family tree to have more children that are going to come of age - also there are traits that should affect fertility so you could increase chance of getting them.
Well if the ratio is hardcoded, then making new children and fertility would be pointless in the end.
Thanks anyway for the info.

If you can amend family tree to put extra male children in descr_strat then they will have to come of age as leaders when they reach 16 - and hopefully they should have some inherent chance of marrying and producing children.
I'm not sure about affect of fertility but I think it could be separate from the region / leader ratio, so could be worth experimenting with.
The bits that I think are more affected by region / leader ratio are chance of 'Man of the Hour' and chance of 'Adoption', which seem, possibly, to be games way of correcting imbalances. Don't know if anyone has confirmed this or other possibilities.....
Well from what I have experienced family members stop having children when you stop taking land. Even generals with fertility traits dont have children until some of your older generals start dieing off.
I think that trait is meant for when your generals are supposed to have children he is more likely to have some.
