I noticed the Dec 2006 PC Gamer magazine has the Medieval Demo, so I bought it for $10. The magazine is still in its shrinkwrap.

Does anyone know if the demo is the first demo or the second demo with the Aztecs? I know the first demo won't work on my computer due to the SSE issue. However if it is the second demo with the Aztecs, it should work. If it is the first demo, I will return the magazine still shrinkwrapped for my $10. If it is the second demo, I will keep it and play the demo.

So does anyone know if US Dec 2006 PC Gamer Magazine contain the first demo or the second demo with the Aztecs?

I can't tell by looking at the disk. I can't do anything until I find out if it is the right demo or not. :help:

I don't know mate, sorry. All i know is that the aztec demo is online and you can try and run it (unless that crosses your SSE2 issue).

Unfortunately, I am living out of a hotel room at the moment with a 26K internet connection. "So downloading an 800Meg demo is impossible. Basically I was resigned to waiting for the game to come out on 14 November until I saw the magazine with the demo. But I don't want to waste 10 dollars if it is the wrong demo. I can return the magazine if it is the wrong demo as long as I don't open the shrinkwrap.

So I have the demo in shrinkwrap, tempting me, and can't do ANYTHING until I find out if it is the right demo or not.......:embarassed:

Run the disc, and find out.

Unless the packaging clearly states the Athlon problem you can return the mag to the shop under the "fit for purpose" consumer rights. The shop should not complain as magazines are stocked in a sale or return basis.

i got a feeling its the old demo, i would suggest you should wait for the full game perhaps :)
