Hey,
I was thinking "eh what the heck,I post it here"..
how did you come to .org? was it a TW Game that brought you here (I hope so),like looking for other MP players, or for a patch,etc....?
Or,
Have you Never even played a TW game, but came here for History stuff, or Came here to meet new people??
I came here in 2004, jsut for MTW clan sites, then in Febrauby 2006, I decided to come here, since .net was goin down here, and after gettin recently ban at .com (In Ferbaybuy, not now)..
I use to google Rome Total War forum boards. I finally found the org. After a long period of lurking, I joined.

I came here for mods because Rome was sorely lacking in the replayability section. I became a member for the prospect of discussing mods, the Monastery, and later posting about MTWII.

I've no idea... I really thought that the journey would be the end of me though...
For a few days, a long time ago, the .net was down, so I decided to go here.
If I recall correctly, EB was what reeled me in for the catch. I do believe I recall my first post being in the EB forums.... *sniff* So beautiful...
I came looking for help on MTW and any interesting facts on the byzantines. i remember someone posting a thread of Osprey artwork of E.Roman soldiers. Pretty cool, I might add. Too bad I cant find that thread anymore.
I originally came in October 2005, but I was busy at the time (and still busy now), kinda lost interest in the site for some time and in addition I forgot my password. Somehow, I went back to this place just last summer, and I was issued a new password and boom, I'm back in the game baby.
It's still a very interesting and helpful site.
Kudos .org, kudos.

Well I came originally to the .org to get patches for MTW, noticed the forums and ended up as a lurker. After lurking period of a year or so I decided to get involved in fun of posting and it's a decision I'm happy about. :2thumbsup:
I came here to read some of the guides, especially Froggy's excellent guide to RTW.
Afterwards I just lurked once in a while.
This summer it was very very calm here at work. I noticed there was a writing contest going on and I thought "hey why not participate?".
And so I joined.
Afterwards, thanks to some of the spammers helpfull members here, I discovered the Tavern...
:shame:

I found this forum while looking for some helpful guides, at some point I stumbled on Froggy's comprehensive one. I also followed the other faction specific guides , before deciding on joining myself, which I did in december 2004 after lurking for a while.
I've been here ever since.

Thanks for the welcome my old friend! Wasn't it your birthday a few days back? awefully sorry i missed it

Someone recommended it to me in multiplayer
I stopped in and lurked back in the beginning of time. I think I first registered when I was playing MTW, but I never really posted. Then somewhere before Rome came out, I lost my password and re-registered as the lemur. Finally started posting. As with so many Orgahs, it was Froggy's guides that convinced me this was a place to stop and hang out.
I joined after simply googling for a forum where like-minded people were discussing issues with (then) STW. I lurked for about a year of so and finally decided to become a full fledged member of this fine community.

I was in the TW site.I found a link who says Strategic Modding Academy.I registede in, but there arent any guides to mod.I googled forums and i entered the totalwar.com forums.I was finding a guide, and i clicked in a link who directed me here.I joined such as Decius Curtius, but i forgot the password. The next day, I created a new account called Caius Flaminius, and I'm here!

I came after the .com site went downhill fast. I got sick of threads being closed 'just in case' anyone broke the rules (ie- before any rules had been broken) :furious3: :wall:
There is only so many power-happy moderators that a man can stand. Havent really been back since...has it changed much?
Nah didn't change really, apart from the fact other people became mods.
People like Elmo and Duck are still around.
That's for me the reason of coming here too. Not being happy with .com. But I still am a regular patron there, mainly to annoy the mods tho.

yea .com is ok, but they to strict. Admins/Mods here at least try to alert you or warn you before they slap you with a actual Warning.

Those guys piss me off too much to even post there, I lurked a bit but really, I've never seen so many locked topics :sweatdrop:
Anyway, I just googled total war in Google :clown:
meh that's down to the new n00b mods they have.
3 weeks ago, I almost made a daily thread entitled:
Why aren't the locked threads moved to the Graveyard?
tbh they don't bother with the MTW2 forums anymore, we get 2 pages of new threads a day. Far too much to handle for the mods.
But anyway I'm not going to discuss it, there's an excellent forum for me if I want to bash CA and .com, and it isn't here

Read about the forthcoming Shogun:Total War on ZDnet, who raved about how it would display thousands of soldiers on-screen at the same time (a major development at the time). That article had links to .com and .org, so followed those.

i got here by first being on gamefaqs.com board and I asked people what a good mod was. Someone told me EB and directed me here and I joined a couple of weeks ago. Back in the day when RTW came out, I was so mad about it I had an insatiable appetite to explore absolutely anything to do with TW. TRhat was at a time when there was link the drop down menu under the Community section. I joined up, selected King Henry V as I was expecting to find an avatar of him. Unfortunately, there wasn't one, but as my second chocie was Augustus Gabinnius, my top general in RTW atm, I'm glad I chose KHV. Stupid Romans.
Anyway, I joined, made a couple of posts in the Colosseum. However, I then disappeared from here until the end of April, when I started writing a story called "The Gold of Byzantium". However, at that time I had not a clue about spamming and forum rules in general, so I thought a good way to highlight my story would be to post the same "Coming soon.....to the Mead Hall" threads in loads of different forums. I think it is a credit to the moderators that I was not warned for it, as I would no doubt have been on other sites where the mods are more trigger happy.

Somewhere in early 2003 I tried registering here as a result of my activities in MTW's multiplayer, but something went wrong and my account wasn't activated. Eventually, I drifted to Total War Center, but came back here for reasons even I've forgotten. This forum's just that good ~;)

Cool Guys. I went to TWC, Made 10-20 posts or so, but came back here not soon after :-) :)
Time to revive this thread...
From what I remember, I came here after I played M2TW demo from a PC game mag DVD. Then, I searched for infos about M2TW and stuff then somehow I ended up here...
I confess I no longer remember how it was I first stumbled onto the Org -- probably through a link at the offical site, but I can't swear to it. All I know is that I lurked here for almost a year and a half before finally deciding to join up. (It's hard to believe now, but at that time I was extremely "forum-shy", and hadn't really participated in message boards before then.) What finally won me over was how everyone here was both intelligent and courteous in their conversations....and (as I realized later) extremely helpful as well. As a rule, Orgahs really know how to make a person feel at home.

I think it might have been thanks to EB.
I was looking through threads on Gamefaqs (what a horrid place that could be...) and found something about EB, I followed the link here, and for more than a year lurked around, never deciding myself about signing up. Finally, in January, why I don't remember, I signed up. And that was it.
I just found it on Google when looking for mods. Found EB and then signed up.
Though I hardly ever post I do read a lot of topics.

I was at the com. enjoyed it (Hagiographers, Tarrak Interactives, supporting NTW).
After Hagiographers fell through, I heard discussion about the .org, and decided to take a look around. I liked it, signed up, and have come here regularly ever since.

Found the link at the .com when hunting for MTW info. Lurked, unregistered, both here and on TWC from VI onwards, I temporarily lost interest in TW when Rome came out, but very soon after I suddenly became interested in Antiquity (no idea how that happened) and picked it up again. It was still about a year before I actually registered though.

I was just googling around for MTW 2 guides then clicked into this forum. It didn't seem too special to me then so i read hte guide and left, only to stumble on teh forum again after searching for a mod. And then magically i saw the godly Gameroom in the tavern. I went in read some stuff and wanted to play so badly. I joined but it wouldn't let me post in it as I was only a nooby member. So i started posting like mad in the Forum ( not spam )
And finally got to post in the game room, and thats when i got addicted to Mafia games.
Came here after I discovered Shogun. Wanted to see if there were any mods for it and found the Org, sorta just stuck around ever since.
Same here, except I wasn't looking for mods, just info. That and I lurked for about 6 years. :hide:

I googled RTW to find s place for help and advice with the game. This is a great place. There aren't as many forumers here as at heavengames, but the RTW iq is a bit higher here.

I was trying to search for RTW unit stats and came across this forum.
Several weeks later, I tried to search for BI unit stats. Failing that, I was looking for guides that hopefully had unit stats in them, and was again directed to FrogBeastEgg's excellent guide, which I recognized. I bookmarked the site and, days later, I stumbled into Scriptorium and started tumbling down the modding hole. :)

Really good M2TW pictures, then gamefaqs to froggy's guides. Read it for about a week, joined.
I was looking or information on camel digestion, I understood there was a leading expert in the field working here, known as Doctor Mithrandir... I discovered it was all about computer games and not in any way camel related, I feel deceived.
I bought MTW in 2005, b/c that was when i got a compi that could run it....[in fact I was soon aware that it could run RTW too9. But back on topic: well playing the Almovids, I think the French gave me a very hard time. So i looked for help, found it here and find it eversince. Plus interesting history facts/discussions, mods and a lot of laughs...
My interest in TW -- for quite a while -- finally brought me here. But now it's more like a standard internet forum I go to, instead of TW being the main case.
