Hey how is it decided what men will be healed after battle and what ones are truly dead?

See in this picture one unit of conquistadors was totally wiped out and every single man was revived but another unit of them only got 1 healed most other units didn't get man heals either. What is ti that decides if they can be healed or not? I though maybe it would be what they are hit with since I'm pretty sure the conquistadors died in melee and with the Aztec weak melee weapons maybe that why they could be healed but almost all the units here died in melee including the other cav unit. so i have no idea. Id really be interested to know. First topic! :2thumbsup:

yep, i think so too... i guess theye get healed more often if theye get wounded by missiles or light infantry... but a cavalry charge is deadly imo... worth a test

Yeah, I've noticed that for example scythed or light-cavalry'd units are more likely to recover (unless they're running away and get run over). I'd say it depends on the unit you are and the unit you're against - heavy against light, say, will give you more recoveries than light against heavy (deaths being equal).
But that latter part's just a guess.

...Unknown... But its good to see that the ability to miraculously recover after a mortal blow, still lives on in the game of Football...
...Prehaps it has something to do with enemy or friendly units moving over the corpses?

Yeah but they can survive cannon fire :O in one of the hack demo battles you have allot of cannons and there allot of zweihanders and i was watching and an exploding shell landing right on them and sent liek20 of them flying! It looked so awesome but about half of them slowly got up again :o Again tho they stood under intense fire from half a dozen units of Scots Guard and four culveins firing shells. And that battle wasn't scripted. It could be tho that all the AI algorithms wern't include in the demo because of size concerns. it defiantly wasn't due to it being a demo since it was the gold ed demo..the final version for release. coons look and sound amazing tho. theres nothing more satisfying than bombarding infantry.

It wasn't exploded shell: these are just mud and the men dived in hollywood stunts.

what we need here is a modder who's familiar with rtw/mtw data file and could tell us.
