I was just wondering, how many people out there can, or think they can run the M2TW settings on high or max (good enough to put some shadowing and antialiasing), with decent+ frames per second? If so, what graphics cards are you guys' using?

Once I get my new processor and another gig of RAM, I most definitely will be able to.
Edit: My graphics card is a dual radeon or something (Can't tell, cuz I'm on my laptop).
Its also important to note the resolution, my PC will have no issues at lower res but its struggling to hit 2 digit FPS at 1900*1200 with 2*AA & 8*AF in the demo.

ASUS M2V-TVM mobo (bought)
2gb ddr2
320 Seagate HDD
some kind of graphics card I have an agp one now so i need to buy a pci-e card for the new pc probably a 6600gt or something till I can get something better.

i can't. i happened to stumble upon an amd athlon 64, 3400+, one gig of ram, radeon 9250 256mb(fell off the back of a truck), and i get lag on the default settings during the battle with the coyotes and eagles....
i am very concerned with how mp will pan out now, more than with rome. the graphics are nice, but i'd sacrifice them in mp for a decent 4v4 with old friends.

My computer ran just fine on full when playing Otumba, the largest battle in the demo. I don't even have an amazing computer, either.

Intel 2.8 GHz
512 RAM
256 MB Radeon X1300 Card
Medium I say.. 2.8 GHz outbeats the minmiunm, so does the GC, but RAM is at minmiun, so I say Medium.
It runs smoothly with everything to the max but shadows. I keep them to "Lowest" in order to have enough fps to enjoy zooming in and out without any floppy animations.
I guess by the end of the year i'll get one more g of ram, cause i'm not sure 1g is enough.

I had a Athlon XP that was more than 4 years old so I upgraded to
Athlon 64 4200 X2
2 gigs Corsair 6400 pro ram
2x 80 gig striped hardrives
Gainward 7950Gt 512mb "Golden sample" video card
so I hope to be able to run close to max

For just a few $$$ he could get a much better one.ts hard to believe it even has 256mb. I mean the core is too slow to make use of that. its like 3gb ram with a 200mhz fsb.

I was able to run the demo on max with out any problem but i think i wouldn't be able to do so on REALLY large battles

"Amazing" is a subjective term though, mate. What kind of computer do you have?
Don't get the 6600, I have a 7900 GT and for an extra £20 you get twice the power. I have 2gig's of RAM and a Conroe so I can run everything on full with no problems, however for some reason the sound is really messed up, I use onboard 5.1 sound and everytime I zoom, in instead of getting battle sounds in just messes up, v. annoying, but I cover it up by pumping out some tunes on my hifi so it doesn't matter but still its annoying.

Well, I have a Radeon 9250 as well. Before I attract sniggers in a thread devoted to showing off fancy GPUs :dizzy2: I bought it because I couldn't find anything much better to put into the AGP slot I had - my machine doesn't have PCI express.
But if someone wants to tell me there are much better graphics cards I could have, I'd be happy to hear about them.

Im playing the gold demo on all max settings, on a Radeon x1950xtx,AMD4200 dual core,2 gig DDR2 800 ram, without an lag.
What can i say,thta grafics looks unbelivable,just foto realistic,when u zoom in its like u watching a movie....ur own movie:laugh4:
There are some gameplay issues that can be improved, but all in all..this game is just too beaty, not to be played:laugh4:
Just ordered a new XFX Geforce 7950GT XT 512mb, should get around 130FPS on max.

More like 13
I can run the demo maxxed out, including 4xFSAA and 16xAF at 1600x1200 at acceptable (i.e. high teens) framerates. Gonna play with different shadow options tonight to see if I can get up to around 30 without sacrificing image quality.

Any other AGP card in the world. The 9250 is just dire. Absolutely and in every single way.

I suggest u to get the 7800GS. It is the most powerfull card u can get on AGP at the moment. Bought it this summer and very satisfied with the results.

I really doubt that anyone on the planet will run the game with 38k men in custom battles....RTW has put even $1300 monster processors on their knees...
Now as far as fewer men with just the graphics settings maxed out I belive most GPUs over $200 will play the game maxed out...
Just ordered a new XFX Geforce 7950GT XT 512mb, should get around 130FPS on max.
The game brings my system:
Athlon 64 3800+ overclocked to 3.1 ghz
X1900XTX overclocked to 690/1650
2GB Ram at 500mhz
sound card yaddah yaddah
to its knees at 1680x1050 4xFSAA 16xAF all settings on high. I got around 15 fps in the humongous custom battles (around 5000 soldiers). It was only when I turned the shadows down to low (shadows are still present for everything, but with reduced depth) that I got a minimum of 20 fps.
I know you're exaggerating, but I don't want you to be surprised when your card doesn't do even 50 fps at all max. Expect around 10-40 unless you are willing to turn some settings down.

Man I can't see many people getting what they wan't out of this game. It's just too darn expensive to run the way we wan't. I mean, I'm goin to need brand new comp to play it, that's insane for one game.
damn.:furious3:

Well, I couldn't run the demo very well with my current graphic card. So I'm going to buy a new graphic card soon, probably a Geforce 7800.
With that, I'll have...
Athlon 64 3400+ 2.41 GHz
1 Gig RAM
Geforce 7800GS (GT?)
So I'm hoping that with the graphic card upgrade, I'll be able to run it at near max settings @ 1024x768 resolution. ~D

I have a Radeon 9900 pro 128mb card. 2.66 Ghz and 1.5gb ram. Thats the best I can do with my stupid agp slots :( . I still think about upgrading this mofo when I get the money ( altho my dad will be furious lol).
I keep getting problems with this video card. Somehow it sometimes just puts out my pc. Also my tft-screen SUCKS.
I can play this game on medium smoothly.

Core2 Duo OC 6300 (3.01)
Gigabyte DS-3
7800 GT 256Mb. OC (460@1150)
1X2 Kingston HyperX Ddr 2 ram (750Mhz.)
160 Gb. Sata II Raid.
and my preciousszzzz 20" Samsung 205BW Widescreen display...
Uh so nice :beam:
I doubt you'll play at max at 1600x1200, your graphics card just ain't up to it :shame:
I am playing on Max but my res is only 1280x1024 so its a lot easier, for my graphics card, my set up (2.16 Coroe, 7900 GT (512MB), 2gb RAM (800mhz) probably couldn't handle full on a 1600x1200, but as my monitor restricits me to 1280x1024 I am fine.
I'll play it on max when I buy a new computer in about 2 years, until then its normal unit size, with lowest settings. The demos run fine, if a bit jerky when I upped the graphics, but I suspect when I get decent sized battles my $50 graphics card will start to hiccup.
mfberg
I've ordered a replacement PC so expect no issues when the new one arrives. My screen resolution isn't that high 1280*1024 so intend to upgrade that but probably only to 1600*1200 once I've worked out what screen was worth getting - haven't seen anything higher than that that seems worth while - unless anyone has any suggestions.

Ok, you guys are a bad influence. I decided to buy a 7600GS AGP card (supplier didn't have a 7800GS in stock and I didn't want to wait in case I changed my mind, lol). Of course, I knew there was a good chance that my crappy power supply wouldn't be able to cope but I used psychology - if I didn't check before buying the card I wouldn't have to commit to replacing that too until it was too late not to.
Fitted the card this evening and the demo looks better and runs much faster than the 9250. Trouble is, after 5 to 10 mins it crashes and I get wavy lines in any graphics intensive game until I reboot. Looks like 250W isn't enough (big surprise). So tomorrow it's another trip to spend another 60 pounds. Proving to be an expensive game M2:TW...
Well, I don't look at it as buying a new computer for just one game. All those other new games are gonna need a hot computer to play well too. I am running 1900x1200 on a Dell 24" widescreen monitor so I won't count on getting good frame rates on the highest settings. But I did just finish building my new comp with a Conroe 6600, 2 gigs ram, and a 7900GT video card so I just might come close. If it is too slow I will have to upgrade the MB though so I can run SLI.
Sell your 7900GT and buy a single 7950GX2 instead of giong SLi with a new MoBo. Cheaper in the end and definitely faster than two 7900GTs :2thumbsup:

I have a 7800GS (same specs, but an AGP card), and I can play near-max at 1024x786, at higher resolutions I need to tone down some effects to maintain a ~25 FPS.

I have the same card with an Athlon 3200+ and it goes smoothly at 1280x1024 when i put the shadows off.
I have noticed that u can save 10 fps from "Lowest" to "None" shadows. Incredible.
Darn, you guys have good pcs.
I have only 512 ram, 256 mb GeForce 6200, Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2,4 GHz, 5.1 speaker system. Hence I am looking at low settings. I might be able to run at medium, but I would like it to run smooth. So I will maybe go for the lowest settings. I don't it to run at 10 nfps (n for nano) ;~).

True, true. I don't remember what CPU I have, Athlon something, maybe 3400+? No idea on the number, honestly.
Got 2GB of the best Corsair RAM I could find and a 7800 GTX 256MB, so that's probably why. I get a tiny, TINY bit of lag during the cutscene for Otumba when you first see the Aztec army, but when I'm actually playing the game, it's perfectly smooth. Wierd.
