Imagine that.
I believe being used for someone's propaganda is very stupid and especially when you do it with such ignorant gusto. The media too afraid to call him out on it of course, but I'm cold hearted enough to.
So what do you think? Is he a total tool or just an innocent pawn in the political chessboard?

I just think Mr. Fox wants more money to go into stem cell research and more specifically EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH.

Or as Colbert would say, "President Bush: Great president or greatest president?"

reference to attack that has been edited out of the original post

The same one that a rabid group of fanatics support full stop despite it having shown no real results?

No real results? What exactly do you mean by no real results? I support embryonic stem cell research full stop because it has the potential to help people. The religious right, wanting to preserve the sanctity of "life" (and probably their own blissful state of ignorance and delusion), try their hardest to keep necessary research under wraps.

Thankyou Dav-san, that is playing the ball not the man.

Thats incredibly sad that he was used that way. I hope he'll have time to correct his mistake and support the correct person before the polls are closed.

It's research. If it has already shown results it wouldn't be being researched would it?

Somewhat exaggerated example:

"Look, this aeroplane-thing is never going to fly. Let's just get drunk rather than trying to get it to work!"
"Sure, that beats doing something constructive!"

I don't think you can blame the guy for not reading the bill. Thats like blaming Corky becase McDonalds fries has transfats. Somebody tricked him and now he has to cabbage patch his way out.

Maybe he tried to read it, yet all he saw was a big black blob going everywhere. He should be the next Bond, shaken not stirred.

Possibly one can get the gist of legislation without a blow by blow reading of it? If he supports stem cell research, and this bill in essence allows for this, what is the problem?

If the bill does something that he doesn't want done, then I think that there is a problem.

The rest of us are allowed opinions. Why isn't he?

Yes, and adult stem cell research is continuing and showing results and potential- unlike embryonic stem cell research.

Now, I don't want a ban on it, but neither do I think they should get federal funds- we've got lots of capital in this country, so if scientists who want to reserach embryonic stem cells can't convince any companies to support them, why should the gov't?

EDIT-Hmm, apparently I started this thread (looking at the backroom)

There's potential for democracy in the Middle East, but we know where many that want embryonic stem cell research stand on that. Patients all around I guess.:beam:

But it's usually good to start with the easier stuff first. You know, a new urin bladder before you try to make a heart or a brain.

Besides I count in decades, do you?

If you're going to film a commercial seen by millions, you should at least read the ammendment it is supporting.

Poor show Mr. Fox.
