Whats Battle For Middle Earth 2 like?

well i personally found battle for middle earth 1 better. overall i find bfme2 an average rts

warcraft3 and DOW are much better and more competitive imo

I play DOW. Alot of fun, I have BFME2 played for 1 hour, got bored.

Get DOW. It has a bfme2 campaign map IF you buy the Dark Crusade Expansion. Although you can play Dark Crusade with having dow original, you need dawn of war to play original races online and you need the other expansion winter assault to play Imperial Guard online.

So although DOW is only £8, I would suggest forking out that extra cash for the Dawn Of War: Anthology (all 3 games) to give you the campaign map and extra factions. Anthology is only £25 (Dark Crusade alone is about £20)

Warhammer 40,0000: Dawn of War. They speak of the second expansion Dark Crusade.


On BFME2. It's good standard RTS game. Goblins are fun if a little weak. Dwarfs are really good in melee with a slight disadvantage in heroes and cavalry. The Men factions is a bit over powered. Mordor is better. Isengard is exteremely better. Eleves have weak armour but super strong archers when upgraded.

It's an okay game, not much strategy involved. I played it for about a week, beat both campaigns and did some random fights. Not particulary stellar. However what I did find to be fun would play a random battle at Helms Deep or Minas Tirith, make my base the castle and fill all the attacking slots with enemies at the hardest difficulty on the same team. Mass archers on the walls and watch hundreds of orcs charge the walls and get killed by hundreds of archers. I'd never repair the gates, just mass some infantry inside and see how long they can hold back the tide before they're overwhelmed. But yea besides that the game isn't particularly outstanding.
