I am about to upgrade my graphics card from an NVidia G6800OC to a G7600GT.

I have the latest drivers for NVidia installed now, which I am sure are later than the drivers that are on the driver disk that came with the new card.

My question is to I have to remove and re-install the exact same drivers to switch cards, or can I simply switch cards. The G6 series card is made by BFG and the G7 series card is made by XSX, but NVidia drivers are generic.

What i mean is-- if you go to the NVidia site for latest drivers, there is only one download that is for both of these card series.

I asked this question over at SimHQ and the first poster said no, that I had to re-install the driver because they detect the particular card.

Then an admin posted and said he had made such a switch with out doing anything to the drivers and it worked just fine.

Any pro or cons would be appreciated.

You'll be fine, just switch the card.

Thanks BKS---It worked just like a charm, and the great thing is that with the new card I am getting better frame rates on the MTW2 gold demo with most of the bells and whistles set to high.

I even have shadows set to medium--they were such a killer before that I had to turn them off completely.

I am so stoked for this game now!

Thanks again.

Yep, tell me about it. I recently upgraded to the 7600 from my old Ti4200, and it was a revelation. HDR! Shader 3.0!
