To play as Poland even though I'm new to the whole genre. I typically like to pick my faction through my heritage (if that sounds stupid or not.), and I figured since I'm Polish Lithuanian I would have a lot of fun playing as this faction. How did Poland play in the first MTW? I like the play the game on H/H or VH/VH and just lose repeatidly rather than beat it on medium my first try. Out of these factions (based on assumption and MTW), what faction out of these would be challenging but not ridiculous, because from what I understand Poland is very very hard to play as.

I think the whole point of playing the game is having fun, and if playing with the faction of your forefathers inspires you, go for it. In MTW the Polish were hard, but not necessarily too hard. And it was deffinitely fun. The main difficulty I think came mostly from low income issues due to poor lands. I do not know how hard playing Poland would be in M2TW, but I hope it would be, as challenges are the thing that makes the game interesting.

Definitely play for fun! Don't care about winning and losing as long as you enjoy doing it :2thumbsup: One of the great things about this game is that you can role-play a faction, like playing as the French and being a pompous, arrogant ponce who is to be trusted by no-one ~;)

I agree with my fellow orgians, play for fun and just go for it! You might get pranced in the beginning, but it is always fun to take revenge.

Indeed the Polish were hard in MTW but I think M2TW will be a very different game anyway so I'm once again going to go through the 'chore' of having a campaign with each faction. :D

My very first campaign evern on MTW was with the Polish. It was a lot of fun. The Polish are traditionally one of the hardest factions due to their position of being surrounded by a lot of other factions and the fact that their starting lands aren't that wealthy. They are a lot of fun though and give a good challenge. Since you are Polish I see that as extra incentive to play with them.

Don't forget the Mongols... that's always a big headache if you take out the Russians early and expand east.
