I'm sat here almost in tears after reading this....
Police officers in Staffordshire have been working in shifts to pour 2,500 cans of beer and hundreds of bottles of spirits and champagne down a toilet.
The alcohol was confiscated from an off licence that was trading illegally and a judge ordered it to be destroyed.

The poor, poor fishies.
Nobody ever thinks of them.

Complete and utter doublebarreled spoilage on a motherfriggin plane!
How could they!

Damn, damn, damn.... I lost another contract for "biological destruction of illegal beverages". Didn't they get my tender documents???? I wouldn't have charged much.... really.... :clown:

Everybody take a deep breath and relax. Look closely at the photograph. Plod is pouring away canned liquids, therefore the only stuff going down the loo is Australian or American - no beer involved.
:creep:
God I am glad that someone had the heart to look a little further, this changes everything :sweatdrop:
Well Kukri, fish don't mind water.

:laugh4: or what we'd call "second generation" beer round these parts :laugh4:

...doesn't Euro beer come in cans?
...doesn't beer come in cans?
fixed it for ya
What a terrible waste of time and money! It would be much more efficient to sell it on to a legal seller of alcoholic products!
They should take a lesson from the United States and prohibition.
You arrest the seller of the illegal booze, you place a tax stamp on the achocal, and you go about and resell the booze to a retail store.
Profit all around for the police.

Screw the beer, they're dumping champagne down the toilet! Sacrilegious.:embarassed:

Strongbow is god-awful industrial cider, not beer.
Oh my God.
Champagne!
They are flushing champagne through the toilet...
:scared: :scared: :scared: ~ ~ ~

Why the toilet?
Or would it not be better to fill the flush section with booze, more effective. Well anyway, trust the Police to be inefficient.

Why not donate it to the nearset homeless shelter? This is just wasteful.
They should have sent it me :(

Alcohol abuse.
The customs service got in trouble a couple of years back for 'destroying' several thousand pounds worth of wines (and this was good stuff, only a few bottles), that were later found to be totally legal or something.
Someone had some good parties.

Don't be silly, they can afford their own. Give it to the local under-priveliged schoolchildren who now have no supply of alcohol.

I rise in defense of American bee...
Oh bother, most American beer does qualify under this designation.
Still, we have a few micros worth quaffing.
Here you go, a fun fact to add to the general sense of outrage.
In the pub in the "Ireland" section of Busch Gardens The Old Country (Theme/Amusement Park) they serve only Anheuser-Busch products.
How about them apples?!
Only the not-so-good stuff.
I don't mean to seem obtuse, but the vast majority of Euro beers available around here are in 50cl cans.
