If you could create one hybrid animal, what would it be? Only two animal hybrids, any more constituents and it gets kind of lame.

Shark-Eagle for me! That thing would be unstoppable.

A turtle and an Amazon jungle venomous toad would pwn.

I'd breed tigers and lions to create Ligers for the magical powers and skillz.

That or vampire bats w/ those giant sewer rats. Vampire rats with wing/legs that allow them to glide unto their soon to be drained prey.

Falcon/panther.

Deadly on land and in air, plus it's doubly deadly at night.

elephant + eagle --> an elephant that can fly, unbeatable (i'd have to call it Dumbo) :beam:

I'd have to say that breeding piranha's with pigeons would be pretty cool.

Town centres would have a new hazard, even more dangerous than chavs.

*boy, was it tempting to say snakes and a plane!*

cockroaches + anything else. Virtual assurance of survivability against chemical warfare, nuclear war, sound bombs, and anything under and including the sun. Of course, the disgust factor of cockroaches, the only creatures I openly support genocide of, would play in...

Cockroach + virus (although just an organism). Any animal who gets in contact get infected. If it is killed, it just stays dormant until another animal picks it up and get infected hence giving it life and ability to reproduce again. :skull:

I don't think they really exist in the wild, so it's probably difficult to know.

You can read up on them and their behavior at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liger) though. :2thumbsup:

One interesting fact, Ligers are generally bigger than either of their parents and the biggest known felines.

Avicenna

They don't exist in the wild. Tigers and lions live quite far apart.

Also, as hybrids, they can't have babies.

Xiahou
11-07-2006, 09:10
Oh, not so!

Male ligers are sterile, but female ligers are fertile and can breed with tigers (resulting in ti-ligers) or to lions (resulting in li-ligers).:laugh4:

Are you sure? A phD told me that hybrids can't breed. You don't need a phD to edit Wiki.

Why that? An owl is a nighthunter, but a falcon is not from what I know.

Well I had first the idea of hybridizing a virus with a suitable animal but well, virus is not an animal right. Whether It can be counted a living organism or not is still being disputed.

I still hold onto my Turtle + Venomous Toad hybrid. It does pwn as hell. :2thumbsup:

A Peregrine falcon and a Wolverine! Tell me that species would not be feared.
A Mongoose and a Wolf. Basicly, a pack of large mongeese! That would be also quite fearful seeing as Mongeese eat anything they can (at their size though, it's hard to eat humans!).

First of all, whoever said Cat+Woman made a horrible mistake. You'd get something like those emo catgirls at anime conventions.

I'm thinking Jaguar+Electric Eel.

Aardvark and a termite (irony)

Anaconda and a porcupine (scary D&D creature)

Chinchilla and a baby seal (perfect coat)

It takes three but it is the tastiest...

How else could you get Li-ligers and Ti-ligers?

No fertile male ligers have yet been found and it is assumed all are sterile. This is not the case with females and a 15-year-old ligeress at Munich Zoo produced a li-liger after mating with a lion. link (http://www.lairweb.org.nz/tiger/ligers2.html)
