Well, turns out that I still have BF1942 on my computer, but I can't go online for some reason. Playing single player with the FH mod is fun though.

So...what multiplayer fps would you recommend?

Call of Duty 2 is great, and if your tight for money I remember Medal of Honor Allied Assault was GREAT, back in the day. I hear it still hase a considerable online community and it is fantastic. Really depends though, what are some things you really want to see in a game?

It is most definately worth it, there are still hundreds of people logging onto AA through Gamespy alone, and it's a ton of fun. I happen to be a regular on the Medal of Honour: AA servers, and there's a reason for that.

It is worth every cent.

Is it true that Call of Duty 2 only allows 8 players online?

Rainbow six games  The level design of these baby's is just perfect for team vs team, and the fact that one bullet kills and there is no respawn really makes these games the most intense and nervewracking multiplayer experience available. Do bear in mind, most of the players have been playing it for a long time, it takes at least 2 years to become somewhat proficient. It's a hard game to master.

No, 32 I believe.

The PC version of CoD 2 allows 64 max.

Having said that, I don't enjoy CoD2 multiplay - it's too fast and "arcade-y". But that's just me.

I guess OFP would beat that..

OFP.

Gah. I'm getting rusty, this is the second time I'm late when a thread needs a notification of OFP.

Evil_Maniac_From_Mars, you still play MoHAA? Maybe I'll reinstall it and paly with you, right now its just sitting on my shelf collecting dust. Hardly a worthy fate for such a noble game. V2 Rocket Facility with rifle only... good memories.

There's still an AA community?! That's probably the game I've given the most hours to online-even more than CS, and I play CS a lot. It was fantastic fun, but I moved onto other things for a bit, and figured that the fanbase had dissipated. I'm really psyched the opposite is true, though-in fact, it makes me want to go home and collect my MoH disks so I can give it a whirl.

Edit: V2 rocket facility was lame! Crossroads and Stalingrad were where it was at.

There's a great AA community, it's insane. If anyone still wants to play a round or so with me, the username's the same. I'll list my favourite servers when I have more time. :2thumbsup:

Oh my god. Stalingrad was shotgun and machinegun heaven. If not V2 (which is the best map :p) then please tell me you like Omaha beach. Its classic!

These days, going into Stalingrad with a shotgun is suicide, at least on the servers I play. You need a machine gun, SMG, or semi-automatic rifle.

The V2 Rocket Facility is great though. Now that requires skill. The Destroyed Village and Algiers are another two really fun maps.

Also bloody great, but it didn't really start out well. When it was released the multiplayer was somewhat laggy, and the engine too much of a system hog. Most issues were fixed with resistance, but most people had moved on by then.

OFP!!! Too bad there's a too small mp community. In fact I haven't played a single mp game of OFP, but it's the most awesometastic game I could think of for mp. Until OFP2 is released, there are really no realistic FPS games to speak of that could have a large community, but of those I've tried online, the Vietcong demo and the full version of Hidden and Dangerous 2 had quite interesting multiplayer modes and not a too small community at that time (I don't know now).

Well.. We had a sort of community for pros that died a little while back.. It was really organised and fun.. The greatest game ever! Though, as for news about OFP2, all the staff who worked on OFP is now working on another game, that is Armed Assault 2.. So, basically, if you want the same experience you got from the awesome OFP, you should check AA2 (I don't know whather it's out or not.. Been a while since I checked up on it) rather than OFP2.

If OFP: CWC had a simple multiplayer interface (I mean a lobby, etc..), I'm sure it would have been alive to the current day.. Too bad such a game got killed by such a small thing!

It's just Armed Assault, not Armed Assault 2. And, btw, ArmA was released yesterday in Poland and Chzeck. The next game the Bohemia Interactive studios is makin gis the so-called Next Generation PC Game, which is Flashpoint combined with RPG, or something to that effect. Sounds bloody brilliant, nevertheless.

And OFP's MP community isn't that small. It's just hibernating.

I play the occasional round of Red Orchestra, but I'm not a big fan of the load times.
