View Full Version : Goofy passing of time.
It's weird.
In your faction overview, you can see the current date as the turn progresses.
Each turn is 2 years in the factiob overview, though characters only age a year every 2 turns (or was it 1? anyway, it's out of sync)
I think it's goofy, It should be patched/modded soon.

No, that's the way it's meant to be. This anomaly was known about many months ago. What they've basically done is compress historical time so that they can fit a number of different eras into a 250-turn campaign (or was it 125 turns, I forget).
Anyhow the end result is that characters "live" about four times longer than they should, otherwise your generals would be expiring of old age every 20 turns or so.
Ohh, right.
It's silly though, It always feel weird to see my general has lived through a 160 years of Medieval history so far, I wouldnt mind people dying every 30 years, although it would be annoying for your merchants.
I hope they mod the 1 year per turn soon.
They already have.
It looks like it is very easy to mod it to 1 year.
They have?
Can you hand me link?

Apperently if you go to your campaign txt file you will find something called timescale which is set to 2.00 or something.
Changing this to 1 will make each turn 1 year.
However characters will now age 6 months/turn.
But doing thhat will tear appart some proportions.
You'll pretty much be done building all your building by the year 1250
Pretty much.
Which is why I intend to play as CA intended me to play.
That's what the game is balanced for and hence should give the best exprience.

Will the game last the double number of turns if you edit it?

What would editing each turn to 6 months do, then? Would the characters still age 6 months a turn or would it do something crazy like having them age 3 months a turn?

Double their build times maybe? :inquisitive:

That should pretty much solve that problem. Maybe together with a bigger cost to build things (the longer it takes to build something the longer one can save to build something else => the player would be richer than in the normal unmodded game).
Would there be other problems and unbalances ocurring?
