View Full Version : How does one get princesses?

Here's the thing.

I'm well over a 100 turns down the game, But so far i've only had the princess i started out with. All the other female characters getting born, seem to vanish when they grow up, since they never appear on the campaign map.

Is this normal?

They get married off to people you know those marriage things that come up? If you want a princess as an agent say you do not agree to the marriage.

Are you sure about this?

I've rejected some marriage proposals. But never gotten a princess.

And i can only remember seeing invited for my prince to get married

I think what Lusted means is that if you don't want to loose you're princess, don't marry them.

When they get married they dissapear. Otherwise, aren't princesses just born and grow like family members?

I know what Lusted means. But i find it weird.

I'm a 140 turns into the game and i havent got a princess usuable as an agent yet.

Even though i have several unmarried women in their teens in my family tree. But they have a slightly smaller portrait, meaning, they aren;t on the campaign map.

D: I want princesses =(

P.S

What Lusted says didn't work for me, I just denied an 'a stuitable husband'' request But didn't gain any princesses

I keep on forgetting about this and marrying them off, as once they come of age as it were they seem to get marriage offers straight away.

I would think the smaller picture means they aren't old enough yet. I'm not sure with M2TW considers the "Age of majority" for the girls, but after that point they should show up on the map.

No Maizel, I don't think he's not saying you gain princesses by marrying, he's saying that you loose them if you marry your princess to someone else

They don't show up on the map after their first marriage offer, that's for sure

Does this game ship without a manual? :inquisitive:

No,being TW vets we don't read it. After the Gold Code day event i read the manual and its got loads of info in it, which explained some things i was wondering about. You should read it, it is very useful.

I'll have to do that lol.

My stupid start-out princess was a fool and is now in the HRE royal family :wall:

I've not got any others either.

You obviously didn't catch the irony. I was asking, because Maizel's question seems to be easy to answer if he had looked into the manual for 2 mins. Instead he obviously prefers to go online and wait for a considerable time to get it answered. There are other questions posted in this forum that are equally easy to read up in the manual.

I too haven't seen any princesses playing as the Venetians. What gives? I'm getting tired of the sausagefest!

I got all my princesses by making whoopie with their Queen:laugh4: . I think that is how the King does it to.

From what I've found over two weeks of solid play, girl children who turn 16 either become Princesses or "noble daughters". She only becomes a princess if her father is the ruler or faction heir, at the time she comes of age. I only had 2 my entire campaign as Byzantium. As Spain, I started with 2, and have gotten 3 more in the 90 turns I've played so far. It's luck mostly, the rulers have to have children early enough in their lives so they're still around when the kids grow up. I had a couple I lost out on because the Emperor died when she was 14.

The manual says (yes, I read it) that they are members of the royal family not just the daughters of the king. And yes, I've never seen them in the game playing with the Byzantines.

Please ppl don't give advice like RTM if you don't know all the facts.

In another campaign as Scotland I did find them in the agent page, with the Byzantines I don't. It may be faction specific, it may be something else, but the problem is real! Now, I have princesses in the family tree but not on the campaign map.

Dont forget to check in the agents tab in each of your cities and forts.

I've had princesses growing old and useless in some out of my smaller towns and forts with no clue they were even there until I went looking for priests to get after a heretic.

I've had plenty of them. It's just luck really. If I remember correctly they also need to be the daughter of the king.

I guess one way to look at the issue is, for every daughter, that's a son you didnt get.

Btw, is there anything a princess can do that a diplomat cant?...other than the marrying them off part, I mean.

If its about marrying a princess off to a foriegn general to get him in your army, I'd rather just have a son born and not have to bother with risking her running off in disgrace.

I just found six Princesses sitting in London in my English campaign. Had no idea they were there. Check your capital just in case.
