Ok. I've seen some people asknig how to get princesses, how to crusade etc, and more stuff like that will surely follow. So heres a thread for it.

I'll start...

I heard you can throw diseased sheep over walls to spread disease, how do you do this in game?

No idea, haven't used catapults yet.

I miss the dismount feature. But seeing that you can recruit ''dismounted knights'', it's pretty obvious that it's not in.

Personally I miss the princesses, I seem to be unable to get them.

Don't you mean 'The "where's that feature thread"?'

Is the "View settlement on battle map" feature of RTW removed? Can't seem to find it... would be a pity if it's out, I enjoyed watching my cities once in a while...

Let's use this thread to share how to do new things in M2TW, not bitch about promised features that did not make it into the game. Both are interesting, I guess, but Monarch intended the former and it is more constructive, so I have renamed the thread to focus on that aspect.

I've got a question

The pope called for a crusade against antiocha.
I (as a humble servant of the vatican) of course built an army and selected it to participate in the crusade.

Now the question. Do the crusade armies have to reach their destination the old fashioned way (walking), which in my case (london->antiocha) would take around 20 turns?

Sorry i don't have the game yet, but as for participating in crusades, it has been stated in some previews that when your army goes to crusade, its movement rate increases. Haven't u noticed any difference?

Yeah you can move further as a Crusader army, only problem for me was as the Scots I sent my lads on Crusade (Along with King Malcom, who ironically has missed the invasion of England and Wales completely), but it ended just as i got into Asia Minor so he is currently on a loooooooooooooong boat ride home, poor sod might not make it back :laugh4:

There is my warning, watch yourself, make sure you get there before other people or your poor men will be stranded, just like my King

Well so far I think only trebuchets can do that.
It is pretty simple, you simply click the special ammo button.
You start with the normal ammo, you click once and you get your exploding rocks and then you click again and you get your diseased cows.

Can point out that the cows uses a seperate ammo then the others.
When you have selected the cows your ammo bar turns green.
And once that's empty you will still have the other ammo.

How do I get to Ireland?

I have a question:

how do you get an economic overview like in RTw where you could see total income and expenditure on troops, building etc?

Regarding the crusade question, I think you can put your crusaders on a boat.

1. you click on that kettle full of money and it will give all the details.
2. Yes they can.

How can I change the faction heir? I remember this was possible in RTW but now I can't find this option.

You can't.
The oldest son becomes the heir.

On the point of dismounting, is it really true that you need to train the dismounted version of units separately from mounted?

I'd have thought that it would just be that in custom/multiplayer you have to choose one or the other?

Where do you find out the current year?

(apart from doing some maths of course)

Can you still capture enemy artillery ? I seem to be having a major amnesia session on how this is done! Tried to capture some trebuchets in a city after I had battered the walls with cannon (which ran out of ammo) so that I could take the inner ward of the castle, but I could not get the inf or ex canoneers to operate the trebs.

Could someone explain how to properly use merchants? I'm having trouble understanding them.

How can I train my assasins, I mean, is there any other way than giving them target and hoping that they success?

PS. why I can't see my own signature? Ofcourse it's not a big problem but still.. And yes, I have checked the box "Show your signature" and "Show signatures" from options.

Oh, I can see it now.

Why can't I edit my posts? What's the point in that?

How do alliances work?
Im allied to France,(im Scotland) and England blockaded Edinburgh (city) causing us to be at war but the Frenchies done nothing - no declaration of war against the English
What happened to the Auld Alliance fer fooks sake

Rpkmann

From what i've heard the only major benefit of alliances is if you happen to be at war with an enemy, the two armys will fight together.:furious3:
one question about the diseased sheep...is this an option of the campaign map? because if you do it in battle/siege wouldn't you have to then take the city with the diseases?

I do not have the game yet but from what I have read I do not think that is not how they work... The effect is more immediate on the battlefield and it causes a big morale drop in any unti it hits...

Is that not the case?
