Well I just got the game and from first turns can't say I am impressed , looks just like RTW with a bit higher res textures and more options so far.... I started playing as Venetians at all hard and I had an easy way up down to conquer Gerusalem , after a couple of turns the Egyptians offered peace and left to me the city ....

The Byzantines assaulted one of my cit, so the besiegiers just stood there out waiting me to attak ....

many units have different resolution oparts and not really good uvmapping on hands and places of borders etc .... pluz the Byz archers had this bug in skkinning of the arm ... ....

https://img509.imageshack.us/img509/9374/4wj0.jpg

the archers take like a lot of time to aim and fire something .....

I like the knights , but somehow unnecessary poligons in some parts of the model and less where could have been more needed ...

archers take the arrows from an unexistant side quiver when they have it on shoulder...

The Italian translator forgot his mychrophone on while was reading the besieging speech .... lol ....

Overall I like it becouse Its always a TW game .... but the feeling to me is that the AI isn't all that great ...... not sure on custom battles though ....

We've been told that this will be fixed in a release patch.

I watched last night German satellite television GIGA TV (television is about video games). They reviewed MII TW from 23 to 24 hours (another game was also reviewed). They were officially supplied by SEGA.
They presented Collector’s Edition; they got SEGA towel, some SEGA book and “War and Peace” book (or similar name).

The first they said was “you don’t know many games which come in two DVDs. MS Flight Simulator need 15 GB of space and MII TW also come in two DVDs.”

First guy who played presented custom battle. He was England and enemy was Scotland. His army was positioned in hill. Scotland AI sent Noble Highland Archers but they were annihilated easily by Longbow men. Scottish army came and stand until Longbows and artillery without any problems pepper them. I noticed wrong animation of soldier who put brush (or how to call it) into culverin. No, he put it into air.:laugh4: Then review guy send two cavalry units in right and left flank respectively and ordered attack to all units. Large Scottish army broke easily. Battle lasted maybe up to 7 minutes. I wasn’t impressed. Music is excellent from what I heard as review guy spoke most time. Soldiers voiced – it was in German... For me well. Graphics is impressive. It’s obvious that they have in studio very strong machine.

Next they showed campaign. French AI thinks too long. And the review guy said because game is huge. Loading is longer than in RTW from what I noticed. He played as England and destroyed Scotland. He showed that two units can be recruited in one turn which is the new option in Total War series. Also he spoke about agents and council of nobles. And “Papst ist tot!” message showed. The same turn rebels showed in Scotland. He attacked them, they retreated and the next turn he attacked them twice (as they retreated again). Battle showed full catastrophe of AI. :wall: Review guy: “After all, this game is not perfect. But we recommended to all who likes strategy and Total War.” About battle I will write later.

And SEGA also awarded Collector’s Edition with all those described addition. Another guy in studio announced question and e-mail where answers should be sending. Gah!
