View Full Version : Anyone else having a problem with sieges?
I'm playing as Venice and I just got attacked by the Byzantines - they besieged a city with a simple wooden palisade, but when they attacked they just stood there with their rams and did nothing, i had to speed up the battle and just wait for the timer to run out, also with this battle it said that someone had opened the gates, except that they hadn't. To top it off, I noticed that it just plunged me straight in, I couldn't deploy my troops before the battle started they were spread all over the settlement, its fortunate that the enemy didn't attack or I would have been screwed. This is the second time this had happened, the first time the enemy were 2 units of horse archers and one foot archers so I figured they just didn't want to close so I rode out with my cav and beat them, but I still didn't get a chance to deploy like in Rome. Now its happened again and I don't know why.
It's the passive AI bug which we hopefully we will see fix for soon.
what about not being able to deploy when under attack?

My guess is that if the enemy opens the gates you don't get to deploy. I don't have the game yet so I can't really help much. There is a patch comming out on the 14th

Didn't have any siege-problem, but I did encounter a very passive AI ...
The AI allowed my archers to completely take out an army consisting of light infantry... They didn't even took loose formation, they didn't try to charge or to run away ...
Nice shooting practice for my peasant archers ... :juggle:

I've never seen any of those problems, but I have been unable to siege before, when I have had siege towers and enough infantry to climb them. It's odd but the option to assault simply isn't there...

Got the same problem ,I think CA have acknowledged it and are releasing a patch for it. This is the only real major bug i've seen so far, which is very impressive really.
