Just thought that since these have never seen the public light of day I'd post them. Shifty was working on nomadic buildings for us for the battlefield, and while a few of the gers were submitted, some of his coolest stuff was not turned in yet, when disaster struck and he lost everything on his hard drive. This was a few months ago, and he lost a number of new things and never got back in the swing of it all, but I thought I'd post them here to let you see what is left of them.

Wind barriers: these were going to be like 'fences' in nomad camps basically. Fabric or skins stretched out to serve as a windbreak next to the camps on the steppe.

Bard's Tent, level one: a simple ger, but with some flags and a little platform for the bard to sit or stand on to woo the crowd.

Ger with Leather top flap: Just a different type, with a leather flap across the top opening.

Ger with smoke: This one had animated smoke coming out of the hole in the top.

Camp fire: For general use. Animated.

Specialist Ger tent: Decorated.

Nomadic gamefield: Quite cool. Was working on paths that go down from it and into the arena.

I believe all of this was lost. Thanks anyway shifty! We've still got the yurtville gers we were incorporating, and the oasis.

Anyone interested in making ancient buildings of any type would not only be a very popular guy around here, but especially so in MTW2. I suppose that max program would be necessary, and PS probably too. Just a thought...

It's OK, we Magratheans believe in re-incarnation.

Those are cool, too bad that they were lost. Is there currently nobody redoing/adding to them?

Such a shame. We weep so much. ~:mecry:

However if you look on the bright side:
May the Nomadic plans die so that even better ones may be created.

I'm most disappointed about the campfire... That would've been an awesome addition to fort battles.

Would it not be possible to add an enemy camp to normal land battles? Like a just behind the red line? That'd be pretty good. It can be done with cities, so surely a camp?

No, we don't have anyone who models 3D buildings for us any more unfortunately.

Can't add camps behind enemy. It's a cool idea, but the reason cities are there is that *cities are *there** on the map. Battles are all over. Camps can't be placed everywhere. We can't tell the code to put a camp behind the enemy.

Wow, sorry that all of Shifty's work was for naught. Those would have been excellent additions to EB.

So, will we be stuck with vanilla villages in 0.8? Did even a basic "Ger" make it into the current build?

If you just want these exact buildings I can probably copy them for you... do you need them? I've never done alot of building work but the modelling I can do easily- the smoke you can probably figure out on your own you know (just look at the RTW blacksmith files).

PM me if you want a bit of help.

goodness it'd be awesome if some of those could make it into EB! wait, are the gerts in the current beta test build?

what a pity for all that good work, im still focousing my interest on RTW, dont like very much that dark gothic atmosphere of M2TW, anyway if all the work will be implemented on the m2tw engines it will be great... hope there are some talented guys to implement that buildings...

BTW, i was thinking, what about all the ancient style building to implement in m2tw? for example the temples, the barracks, the palaces etc... i think this will be the harder and longest work to do, cant imagine who is that good soul who will do it...

well i woulda thought EB2 would be just like EB except with more shiny stuff and better shaders (atmosphere wise i meen theres plenty of extra factions etc). So i dont think you can even compare m2tw to EB2 in anything but graphics.
