Pontus CTD

Hi

The Mod will not let me play Pontus! Just finished the Greek states, thought I'd try Pontus. CTD when loading after selecting the faction.

Thought it may have been related to completing a game previously, loaded Bhactria and then Carthage as a faction successfully. Went back to try Pontus, still CTD when loading after selecting the faction.

Any ideas?:help:

Have searched here to see if anyone else has experienced this but no joy in finding a reference.

Yeah, that's very strange. I don't think we've heard of any factions causing a ctd like that on startup. Esp. if you just finished playing a campaign as someone else! Very weird. Have you altered anything? Sometimes the user interface for a culture will cause a CTD if it's been mucked up. But you wouldn't have that CTD for other cultures.

I have been back a few times to test, still no luck each time I tried Pontus and also tried several other factions with no problem. I am now playing carthage and so it isnt an issue.

I have not played with any of the files or altered anything, have a clean install with the resource and reinforcements extras loaded in.

Thank you for the response though.... just one of those strange ones, will probably vanish next week with 0.8:2thumbsup: .

pontos and ptolemies share a culture in 074. In 0.8 pontos, armenia, and parthia share one. I'd have a hunch something went wrong with the GUI. But this is not a problem anyone else has mentioned. If ptolemies won't work but all others will - that is definitely the problem.

Spot on....ptolomytes not working either. Sorry. hadnt tried this subset out as didnt realise they are related that way.

Is there a fix/work around for this?

It's not so easy to change those in 0.74. It's a piece of cake in 0.8 as a -mod build though. Sorry I can't say for sure what it would take to fix it, but that is certainly what has gotten corrupted.
