You're in a room. The walls are solid rock.

Jutting out from the rock is some PVC pipline, 2.5 inches in diameter.

Its L shaped so:

|= wall
anything else = pipe
(back to front L shape)
|
| |
| |
| |
|-----

Inside that pipe, a 2 inch diameter ping pong ball is dropped. It stays down there, it doesnt roll along the pipe.

(The pipe does lead anywhere, its covered by cement at the end, so nothing can come out of it etc)

You have a shaving mirror, a few paper clips, some string a magnet and a comb.
Get the ping pong ball out.

(there is only one solution)

Sasaki Kojiro
01-13-2007, 19:57
Putting your mouth in the pipe and sucking it out?

pevergreen
01-14-2007, 02:01
Nope, too much air.

Sasaki Kojiro
01-14-2007, 02:06
How long is the pipe?

pevergreen
01-14-2007, 02:12
Youve got enough string to reach the bottom.

Keep in mind, this is from a game where all you get is the question.

Once this one is solved Im starting my own thread of reaallly hard ones (and easy ones as well)

Sasaki Kojiro
01-14-2007, 03:18
You could piss in it I suppose.

pevergreen

Well done Sasaki!

Motep
01-14-2007, 08:53
You could use the paperclips to wrap the string around the other side of the ball, and pull it out (suppose it depends on how far back it is)

sorry...I was reading back and I just noticed that Sasaki got it right...

God doesnt exist/neither does your clock

God is everything/therefore he is your clock

Your god is a god of clocks.

But then of course African swallows are non-migratory. So, they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway.
Supposing two swallows carried it together?

No, no, no...Its...welll...i dont really know, but this conversation has hit a dead end somewhere...

You have three containers of marbles. One has only red marbles, one has only blue marbles and the third has an equal number of red and blue marbles. The labels on the containers have been switched so that each container is wrongly labled. Your job is to fix the labels correctly. Of course you could just look in the containers to find out which labels match, but can you do it without looking into each container? Reach into any one of the containers and select one marble. Can you now correctly label all three containers? If not, select a second marble from any container. What is the fewest number of marbles you need to inspect in order to correctly label each container?

(Bleh....that was a mouthful)

OldSchool
03-26-2007, 18:50
You only need one marble.

Pull a marble out of the jar marked "mixed".

Whatever color it is, is the color for that jar. Remove the "mixed" label and replace it with correct color label.

Whichever jar still has a label on it is the "mixed" jar. Fix that label.

Put the last label on the last jar.

Edit: Sorry guys. I don't know any good riddles. Does anyone else have one?

The explanation (if that's what you're asking) is:
the new line describes the line before, so it goes:
one
one one
two one one
one two one one
etc... at least I think that's the explanation
