There is an option to 'try attacking at night' on the pre-battle screen, but I haven't tried it yet.

It always did for me in BI and other rome mods, i assume itll be the same here

No, it doesn't reduce the FPS rate. To be honest night fights feel more like evening fights. It's dark, but not as dark as BI was. You don't seem to get the stars and pitch black sky. I only played four night fights though, but they don't look as good as the ones in BI. The torches don't have that cool glow either.

It's good when you do a night fight and its really foogy as all you can see of the enemy is the little white specs of their torches.

I like artillery (especially Monster Bombards) in those foggy night fights :)
You see your troops marching, can't look further than 10 meters, and then suddenly, somewhere far away in front of you, you see a row of white flashes...:eeeek:
