I know this may sound like a daft question, but how many turns are there in a year?
I assumed that it was the same as RTW (2 turns per year) as you go through a summer and winter turn, which is a fairly logical assumption.
However, I wanted to check so I looked at the date and it was 1092 AD and yet 18 turns had passed. That makes it 18 months per turn (12 years x 1.5 = 18 turns) rather than 6 months.
Am I just being an idiot here and everyone else knows this already, or do I win a prize for spotting this first?

Cheers,

Without modification...

1 turn = 2 years

Game still alternates winter and summer turns.

Characters age 1 year every 2 turns.

Therefore without modification characters age 1 year for every 4 years that passes...

Of course if you simply leave the turns in place and try not to think about it it still works...

There is another thread about modifying the timescale (years per turn) somewhere around here...

Surely it is 18 months per turn.
How else can you explain that 18 turns had passed after 12 years?
(and also that you get Summer and Winter turns)

No, its 2 years per turn. Game goes from 1080-1530 so 450 years, and there are 225 turns.

That does make sense, however, it doesn't explain the following :

I now have my date at 1104 (24 years have passed) and the number of turns is showing as 36.

By my calculations that's 18 months.

Can someone look at their own screen and check the years/turns ratio before I go insane?

So, without modification I have to conquer 45 provinces just in 225 turn's?
I can't do that. Why the developers set the long campaign that hard?

Maybe there are two different system between short and long campaign?
On the short 1 turn= 2 years and on the long 1 turn= less than 2 years. At least I hope so.
