I was all set to be mightily interested in the outcome of the game next week. As a Texas fan, I needed to hope that OSU beat Michigan by a huge amount, thus setting up a Texas/OSU rematch for the championship. Sadly, Kansas State beat Texas last night and so now my interest in the big matchup next Saturday has waned. I think I'll jump on the Rutgers bandwagon now too, just out of spite. (sigh)

Well, we have improved over last year as you well know, but that doesn't say much. 2 wins with 9 looses.

Yeah, I corrected it. I was trying to say Michigan and Ohio State and it came out OSU and Michigan State.
It's nothing against the Wolverines. It's just that (up until last night when KSU beat them) the UT Longhorns were needing a big blowout by OSU of Michigan in order to keep UT's BSC championship hopes alive. But UT took themselves out of contention by losing to Kansas State. So now it doesn't matter. I might even cheer on Michigan. I've always liked them more than OSU.
When was the last time the Wolverines won a national title? I was trying to remember and it isn't coming to me. 1997 or so, co-champions with Nebraska?

We're not nice to Bucknuts that invade our town every other year, not by any stretch. Wearing scarlet and gray usually earns you some choice words from the Michigan faithful, or maybe even a stray water balloon tossed in your direction.
But you guys take it to a new - and disturbing - level. Buckeye fans have been known to assault opposing fans while the Columbus cops turn a blind eye. To Ohio State fans, a sucker punch is an acceptable form of behavior when a Michigan student is on the receiving end.
That's not rivalry. That's not fun. That's sick. And Ohio State fans should be ashamed of it, instead of touting physical intimidation as a reason why Columbus is a tough place to play.
The same dichotomy (It's a big word, I know. Ohio State students, I recommend dictionary.com.) applies to the respective athletic departments as well.
In Ann Arbor, the visiting Buckeyes are greeted by a friendly athletic department representative, who guides the team to the visitors' locker room.
In Columbus, the visiting Wolverines are greeted by not-so-friendly attack dogs, in a "security measure" that Ohio State takes against no other team.
Seems a bit excessive, especially when the hardened criminals usually hail from Columbus (insert your own Maurice Clarett joke here).
But when your all-time record against Michigan is 39-57-6, you need every unfair advantage you can get. At least that's how the screwed-up thinking goes in Bucknut country.

This could either overshadow or motivate the UM effort. I wonder how "silent" the moment of silence will be in Columbus, I'm sure they'll have one.

UM is no better. The standard response to obnoxious UM fans around here is to ask what they majored in.

That's true, I used to go to a game every season since I was 13...
Anyway, we still have a small chance to get a rematch against OSU. *hopes*
The Rose Bowl is the best second prize one can hope for though... :shrug:
